Balance Cele DD Ele Please
The problem is constant spam of everything.
Too short cooldowns, boons and conditions that last little but can be reapplied instantly.
What is the point of removing a boon from the enemy if they can just reapply instantly faster than it can be removed?
These elementalists builds aren’t about skill at all. They are about spamming as much as possible of everything. You take all their boons, count to 5, they have them all again complete with a 15-25 stack of might. Not a single window of opportunity. No downtimes.
The whole pace of the game is too fast for this kind of game. Hell, it’s getting too fast for a Quake game.
Just for the sake of argument. I went through the Go4Gw2 tournament since 26th july and in average here are the percentage of classes (based only on what they showed on stream, not counting the many unshown matches) :
- ranger 3%
- necro 7% (who said they are OP???)
- engineer 9%
- warrior 9%
- guardian 12%
- thief 13%
- mesmer 15%
- elementalists 32%
An equal repartition of all 8 classes would mean 12.5% each. I am not claiming those stats necessarily reveal the balance because there is also a question of “roles” and “counter”, but I still think the results are quite clear…
Only reason why Necromancer isn’t up there is because Signet Necro wasn’t popularized yet and main necromancers played power necros, that ‘statistic’ was from 3 months ago. I’m seeing more Signet Necromancers than cele ele’s now.

If you only look at Go4GW2 (if you have other sources than your “personal observation”, please show me) the cele necro rate is extremely constant. The difference you may have is that I averaged EU and NA, and while NA has a few necros, EU has basically none. In general, NA has more elementalists and necros than EU, EU has more guardians and warriors than NA. And in any case, never more necros than elementalists even in NA.
The necro build is not amazing; its strength is that it is one of the only counter to D/D cele elementalist. I suspect that if D/D elementalist gets nerfed, the cele necro will also go down in popularity.

Seriously: have you played it?
Cele signet counters:
- boon-heavy classes (guardian/elementalist)
- condition heavy classes, especially the bursty ones (burn guard/elementalist/condi mesmer etc…)
That’s all. On the other hand, they are easily hard-countered by CC (warrior/ well played engineer) and have absolutely no immunity nor anyway to escape the fight. In high tier PvP, they are always the ones to go down first. And it is not because of the “target the necro” mentality, it is just the only class who cannot escape when it gets +1-ed. (Also it does not do that well bunkering outnumbered).
Might stacking on a node is ridiculously easy even if you’re up against a good player. Some people have no idea what they are talking about.

^ and people think Celestial is overpowered. +600 stacks in every stat +~700 from might.
If your class cannot stack 25 stacks of might really quickly, Celestial isn’t very good. If your class can stack 25 stacks of might really quickly, celestial is overpowered.
Oh and Silverkey, the way you play signet necromancer is sit on mid or home point and win every trade. Also, you have a constant spam of weakness, so if you can’t handle players that use power you are just a bad necromancer.

I think you should give lessons to Nos, he does not seem to master well the class.

What? The only Necro build I think of that could beat a cele signet necromancer is minion master. They have condition transfer so going condi necro isn’t an option and a constant pumping of weakness so going power necro isn’t the answer.
As I said, they have high defense, counters to power and conditions plus get a massive damage spike if they knock you below 50% health and can keep up that massive damage spike making it nearly impossible to recover.
They have a counter for nearly everything, except team fights which is where they are at their weakest.
A team of 3 turrets makes it to finals and it’s nerfedd the next day but now a team of 5 d/d show up and WINS the esl tourney and nothing happens I guess the community has to balance the game because the debs fail to.
A shame really lots of high tier pvp potential but terribad management

Being unable to kill turreter as ele or war back in that time showed the quality of ESL.

Nah, Cele Sigs loses to Power too. Cele Sigs doesn’t have the damage to outdamage nor sustain to keep up with Power in a straight 1v1. SoS/PoC/Plague Sending don’t really do much against Power Necro so they’re basically wasted traits in that matchup. Only danger is Weakening Shroud.
Simple, make blinding ashes 20 seconds so that they will finally use the other traits and use the fire trait line for DAMAGE. And cut the burning stacks on ring of fire from 3 to 1.
Keep the evade for all I care, blinding ashes is just brainless and takes no skill to land. If they can’t make blinding ashes skill based then gut the cool down.
