“I think this mechanic should be added into the game because it makes sense for this to happen and there is no legitimate reason not too.”

These people:
Wow hate on thief more, kick us while we’re down don’t you? All you guys are bad and should learn to play instead of blaming us.

Are these people:
Oh my god I can’t believe ANet made spirit ranger so overpowered this is so dumb passive effects are for people who can’t play the game get rid of this stupid mechanic!

Saying people are bad or that ‘you can counter it’ is fun to say and all, but its hard to take people seriously when they alternate between saying we’re bad and X is so op.

Well to be fair, if someone dodges or blocks your attack, yes you should suffer the consequence. If a necro uses Corrupt boon, just say, and they evade it. Guess what happens. It doesn’t go on a 3 second cool down. It goes on a 40 second cool down and poisons us.

This isn’t an issue of “others need to learn to play” because they did learn to play. That’s just it. They dodged or blocked a mindless assault. On the other hand. A thief COULD learn to play and not attack a warrior blocking, predict dodges, don’t attack a blurred Mesmer or what ever. Thieves have way too much reward versus their risk in a fight because “if all else fails, press the button again”. No other class in the entire game can do that…

Since it would be “logical” to reveal a thief that got blocked, can we also get at last the ability to disrupt channels if we stealth during the cast time? Say like Rapid Fire that continues to track us perfectly even if we are invisible.

As a Ranger, I would be okay with this if thieves got revealed when blocked.

The main problem with this thread is everyone keeps trying to compare the skills of other professions with each other. You cannot do that. that is not how this works, they are all extremely different by design and are meant to be played that way. you cannot every hope to make a comparison between Warrior skill X and Thief skill Y, it is just stupid and counter-intuitive.

Well its fair to say no other class AT ALL can miss their attack and not be affected. Part of the skill in this game is making sure your attacks connect or suffer the consequences.

I hear it’s suppose to be Thief vs 20, and the Thief win without taking any damage.

Seems fine with me. I don’t even use ranged weapons!

Agreed. “I just blocked his attack, but I have no idea where he is.” How does that make any sense whatsoever?

It makes exactly as much sense as a shield held in front of your body by your left arm blocking a dagger stabbing you right between the shoulder blades.

If you’re a thief and haven’t

save yourself the money and don’t bother.

And logic bites back! I like it. However, my standpoint is on a mechanical standpoint. Thieves are already the only class who can spam the abilities they want if they miss, they need more risk for the reward they get.

Lol you should play a thief so you could see the risk/reward atm thieves are almost unplayable.

Only because conditions are out of hand. That’s not a thief problem, that’s an everyone issue.
