Bunkers: In-Game Points
If you think score matters, you’re doing it wrong. Unless there is some bug, everyone in the team shares the same rank points and silver reward per win regardless of points.

there’s a reason Anet took out awarding players for the points they earned in game.

Yeah i feel that this is kinda problem , a lot of ppl coming to pvp , when they are running on pts , caping with 2-3 , stomping with 2-3 thinks they are doing right becuse they are getting pts abd tryn to get hight possible score , anet should change that somehow.

Scoreboard as of now only serves the purpose of determining who wins a tie. The entire system has its flaws which I won’t get into detail; but includes doing 500 dmg to a downed body and it counting towards 10 pts for you and whoever even cleaved damage on the body…
I’m more happy with a bunker guardian who held on to close and scores 10 pts rather than the other one who did and scored more but left close unguarded to free cap…
That’s the good thing about rank points now being evenly awarded to entire team.

Which you can do by actually holding your point and defending it from any enemies incoming to it.
I understand the point BlinkTwice is trying to make. Especially with new players in e.g. soloQ you have the problem that they think those with less points are bad players. This often also leads to new players not listening to those who know what to do, because “what does he/she know, look at his/her score”.
The problem with the current score board is, that it doesn’t reflect the actual contribution to a victory in any way. I would rather have no score board at all than a score board that only shows who stomped/killed the most enemy players (except for death match of course).
Still I don’t know how they could make it better. Maybe you could award more points for kills in a capture point and its vicinity but remove awarded points in the middle of nowhere entirely?
What I would not do: letting the points tick for someone who is standing in the circle, because then, everyone would run to the home point and stay there.
But maybe it could be implemented instead that as soon as the defender gets dmg, the points start ticking for the defender (and not just when successfully killing the attackers, but really for staying there as long as the point is under attack).
Generally I just think that everything that rewards counter-productive/unstrategic play is simply wrong.
Scoreboard might as well be entirely removed, especially from Solo Queue.
Its totally misleading.
They could easily just reward time spent alive + in combat + on a point, with bonus points if it’s a neutral point, bonus points for capping/decapping a point, and bonus points for kills/stomps/rezzes.
shouldn’t get much points for AFK on close, but if you’re in combat on it defending it for 5 minutes you’d get a lot of points.
