Competetive Thieves...destroyed.
I play condition thief at tournaments and I still own people, thieves are still viable.
Power/crit thieves are not viable anymore.
Condi thief is viable and it will always be ( unless they nerf DB or sneak attack), but 1-1-5-1-1-5- or 3-3-3 is not very fun, really.
Sounds like you’d enjoy playing a different profession more (i.e. initiative system will always favor using your best attack multiple times).
Balanced/pressure dps builds usually were very difficult to play at high level.
S/D and D/D ( balanced, not glass cannon) and, to a certain extent, D/P ( altough it was not very viable from the start, since D/D fills its role a lot better) relied on positioning and full usage of all your skills ( aside Flanking strike, which usually, due to how clunky and unreliable it is, is used only to strip Stability off ), along with tons of weapon swaps according to the situation.
Now those builds, especially S/D, lost a good portion of their effectiveness, and you need to pump up offensive stats on order to make up for the damage you’re lacking.
To say it better, we’re forced into glass cannons to be effective, and glass cannons thieves are not viable.
Condition builds are all thieves have right now.
And this is not promoting build diversity, not at all.
This must be your first MMO. Any class with stealth will be whined and whined into oblivion. Just go play a warrior, you will be fine.
Thiefs have a hard time now.
I will talk about mesmers. How can a thief beat a mesmer now 1 on 1? heh…. skilled mesmer has 80% of winning.
