Concerning The Viper & Sinister Amulets

While I do enjoy that they added new amulets for everyone to play with, but at the same time I feel not too many of them could be used in most settings. So I’m going to make suggestions below as to what I would change them to if I had the chance.

-Vipers Amulet-

Current Version
1050 Power
560 Percision
1050 Condition Damage
560 Expertise “Condition Duration”

My Suggested Version
1050 Power
560 Percision
1050 Condition Damage
560 Vitality

Tldr: It’s essentially the exact same thing as the wanderer amulet except replacing vitality for toughness. But in this case it’s replacing Expertise “condition duration” with vitality. I feel the amulet is simply too glass and doesn’t really hold its own, thus my change.

-Sinister Amulet-

Current Version
900 Power
900 Precision
1200 Condition Damage

My Suggested Version
750 Power
750 Precision
1000 Condition Damage
500 Vitality

Tldr: With this change you shave power, precision, and condition damage to add in vitality while still staying at 3000 stat points, which is the same amount as the current version implemented in the game.

I feel that with these changes these amulets would actually see the light of day in competitive play, as of right now the only choice for a power condie hybrid is carrion simply because of the vitality protecting you somewhat when it comes down to survivability. Let me know your thoughts.

Sinister is meant to be the counterpart to Berserker, so I think it’s fine as it is (and it’s been the way it is in PvE for a long time).

I’m ambivalent about Viper, but I think the point is to introduce the new Expertise stat and if Vitality is to be added it would replace something other than Expertise. Maybe Precision or split Power and turn it into a 5-stat.

I’d also like to add that with Wanderer… would be nice if Toughness was higher and Precision was lower, but I get that Anet is wary about making a condi amulet that’s too survivable. On the other hand… why is Wanderer’s stat distribution so different from its PvE counterpart?

They are all terrible I agree lack of vitality is a biggie at least bring a shaman and settler version with condition damage as main stat if you are not ready to add dire.

“They are all terrible” because I’ve 1v1’d and 1v2’d and even 1v3’d many more things with Viper than with any other build I’ve ever used… Only thing I die to is signet necro if I’m not careful. I spent almost all of yesterday using Viper.

I suppose I could note that Scrapper basically gives 500 toughness and there’s a lot of healing on the build even without any healing power stat.

You mentioned scrapper….your argument is invalid try it regularly on base engi. We are still fresh patch as well I can 1v2 burn guards on my necro, solo and kill a reaper/chrono some people take a while to learn. If you can truly 1v3 equally skilled foes enjoy it while it lasts.

What you do against potted plants doesnt really count.

They were added specifically because they are not very useful. Anything that is strong and might upset the metagame is banned from sPvP.
