I’m totally on board with the next weeks being an evolutionary process as we all adapt to new meta, but my two cents anyway: There is now too much going on to manage properly in PvP. Too many condis. Too much burst and dps. Too many boons and new buffs that crowd the UI.

I’m not trying to kvetch and be grumpy, but one of the great features of gw2 PvP was its relative simplicity. Limited skills. Limited buffs/debuffs. Active combat w/ dodges, etc. At present, however, the massive amount of damage and condi spam deemphasizes all this, and instead promotes button mashing and luck as opposed to movement and rotations.

I know all the condition and damage increases were instituted primarily for PvE, where dps creep is less of an issue. But at present it seems to have removed much of the fun and strategy from PvP, and replaced it with screen and action clutter.

Again, just my 2 cents while the meta settles.

So far I’ve extensively tested Elementalist, Mesmer, and Necromancer (RIP Consume Conditions) post-patch, and I survive just as well as I did pre-patch despite the all of the introduced power creep. I absolutely love that two Celestial builds can go at it with a much quicker resolution now too as well as the fact that mistakes are more heavily punished.

Anyone who says Zerk is the average Joe build is an average Joe.

I tend to agree somewhat with Velimere. I also think that a possible problem with the whole condition raw dps clutter lies in the fact that the meta before was predominanty;y focused on either zerk/dps or condi based damage. So naturally considering people still need to figure out a new meta. It’’s going to happen. I think this is done intentionally to push people away from the zerker meta. to make more amulets viable, and not only zerker, rampager, assasin, and have something else other then sigils of fire, air, geomancy, intelligence, strength, or runes of hoelbrak, fire etc.

Now that dps and conditions got a buff the risk for running conventionall longbow dps rangers, or traditionall medi guard, is simply too high. U have to balance it more. I run a celestial guardian now and an valkyrie amulet guardian pre patch with right hand strength and i suffer little to none from the raw dps or condi increase.
