Why exactly is a downed player allowed to cap / neutralize a point? This is kind of an infuriating issue with regards to things like elementalists vapor forming around, thieves warping about on the point, and guardians ‘bunkering’ while downed.

While many people want the downed state gone, I feel it’d be fine if they couldn’t impact point captures. That, and maybe get rid of rezzes or make them all like Elixir R (over time, not instantaneous). It’s just infuriating to have 3 downed enemies on a point and have to work them down one by one (no stomping allowed, just get knocked around – better off DPSing 2-3 at a time with AoE), and by the time you’re killing off the last one, the respawning players are showing up again.

Imo this sounds more like a minor annoyance then an actual problem. PvP is a mode where players try to inconvience each other, so PvP in all forms has potential for annoyance.

I completely agree with OP here … downstate is fine … but the fact that a technically defeated player can still contest / hold a node is absolutely absurd … that just doesn’t make sense. There are too many “strengths” of being in downstate which if I’m not mistaken is “fighting to survive”.

And while on this subject … I’m quite curious as to how rallying makes any sense in PvP. The fact 1 or more players can randomly stand up during a team fight is absolutely lame and involves no personal skill from the player who was downed, rather the team still left standing.

I think if players are to honestly get back up from downstate, they should be REVIVED … not “Oh look an enemy team player died, SUDDENLY I’M OKAY!!! =B” Duuurrrrrr~

Arenanet blows my mind with some of this trash they have implemented which has ruined the wonderful core mechanic this game has. Lots of fun to play … until you really start to understand the balance problems, bogus issues, broken or worthless runesets / sigils / however umpteen other crappy features are in this game.

I agree with this – also agree mostly with Jesiah – I think downed state should be at a significant disadvantage to live players… i.e. it should be much harder to rez from downed state than it is to stomp/finish off a downed player.
