This would also kinda hurt Rangers badly. Yet for some reason I WANT this to work, just due to how many times I could have lived if killing a clone/minion/pet helped me rally.

That would be broken against mesmers in general, so no. What could really work is: pets/AI chars don’t interrupt your downed heal. That way only direct player’s attacks would do it. No more bs pet/ai stopping your from rallying while their owner is doing something else.
That would give any team who runs pets or turrets or even mesmers a disadvantage in competitive play with the amount of rallys their enemies would be able to get off.
I’ve often wished that you could rally off of clones/minions but it is usually due to irritation that something can be such a potent part of a fight (except for necromancer minions, but even then they can soak up aoe) and come with absolutely no drawbacks. They can stop you from rallying but you can not rally off of them.
They either need to be part of the battle fully or left as a companion.
Option1:
They are part of the battle, they can fight and do battle no matter what which means they can kill you while you are down even if their owner is off somewhere else. This also means you can rally off them if you or a team mate can kill them while you are down.
Option 2:
While the opponent is downed they can not interrupt, do damage, take damage or play blocker. This forces the player to finish the fight they are in and not hide line of sight and let their pet do it.. or head off towards their next objective while leaving the companion to finish the job.
They are part of the battle or not… choose you should not have the advantage of both.
I like the idea to have pets of any sort immediately return to the spot their master was downed at instead of bashing the downed enemy in their master’s spot. That goes especially for mesmer and ranger pets.

Ranger have trait which give pet quickness when he go down, it would make that trait useless then. Ranger attacks dont scale kitten good as they should with power because we have pet. Pet AI is kinda dumb, its easy to evade most of melee pets attacks just by using elevation. Pets dont have evade mechanic and it would be too easy to rez because of them (you want probably to rez from killing spirits also?) and it would put rangers in huge disadvantage. Even ranger birds need to use stairs to reach enemy which is laughable (Huge distant to run for pet if ranger is standing at window in clocktower and want pet to reach enemy on point) . I need to use utility if i want to place pet where i want it to be.

Those are good points to have pets be a reason to not be able to rez off of.. and I didn’t think it was a great idea myself but it would be fair. Choose the other option then. Pets can not target/attack downed players to keep the scale even. Being rezzed off of a pet is too much of an advantage.. well so is having the pet attack the downed opponent while the player hides out of sight to avoid damage. Can’t have your cake and eat it too… either they are part of the battle or not.

if u choose to run that build u should life with the consequence!
as example if i choose to run minionmaster i relay on my minions to bring ppl down and even if i go down my pets will still be there and secure me the victory of the downfight. so in my opinion its a risk-reward thing. i get the reward of help but has the risk of rally the player. why is that unfair?
this game seems pokemon, full of pets minions and clones…. so ugly
I can understand fighting class pets, but rockdog spawning when I’m hitting downed enemy, and interrupting my heal… nc
I haven’t been able to wrap my brain around since beta when you get downed all condi’s drop off you however clones and phantasm’s who have a distinct condi type of mechanic continue to whirlwind you for 5k damage.
My brain is just too small for these advanced mechanics.
