My tupenny on Downed State:

Love it in PvE as it adds a nice safety net and good friendly vibe to encounters, really enjoyable.

Hate it in PvP as I find it illogical. I have seen/read/watched etc all the materials explaining why this exists and how to use it to your advantage etc etc etc so this is not a knee-jerk reaction. But ok… I understand that I can spec to finish people quicker or prevent people from finishing me quicker and there can be a whole big tactical playstyle around Downed State, I get that. My problem is that while the afore-mentioned may be true it does not change the fact that it’s nonsense in PvP in the first place.

I could go on and on in lots more detail about the pros, cons and whys and wherefores, instead I shall summarise with my suggestion on how to make it far less annoying and ridiculous in PvP:

Remove all downed abilities and make downing a player the point-scorer, but keep the downed state basics.

This keeps the “safety net” against pure burst and lack of focus heals blah blah in place but stops all that embarrassing flaffing around and keeps a small window where your team can get you back up fast (also preserving the team-tactical nature of DS).

For the love of all gods and goddesses in history though – please please PLEASE remove this silly F-buttonraindancelolol nonsense and rock throwing malarky. Every time it happens I just stare at my screen going “erm, k……. cup of tea then!”

The CD is not the problem. If you have the skill ready, and you are downed by 2 enemies. And you could be saved if you cand stand 2 seconds more.

Wow, it’s so obvious you’ve never played an Elementalist. You can’t USE vapor form immediately when you enter the downed state. An enemy has enough time to stomp you TWICE (if they get interrupted by one of the Ele’s teammates) prior to even being able to enter vapor form once.

Oh, and it counts as a 2nd downed state, so when you return to downed, you have less health.

Wow, what an awesome amazing ability those Ele’s have…

You are wrong, if an Elementalist is downed and a Thief is downed, the Elementalist will emerge victorious. It all depends on the situation.

How do you figure? Do you mean if we’re both downed at the same time, and we each spam out #1 skills on each, the Ele will win? Cause if so, you should know that will never happen.

To even compare the thief’s downed state with the Ele’s is laughable.

Downed state is a hilariously broken mess right now. Even if you manage to beat a thief or a mesmer their overpowered downstates will allow them to keep you at bay for far too long. Meanwhile they can simply stealth stomp you to death without you being able to do anything unless you’ve got a convenient AoE interrupt. Lucky guardians. Of course, you could simply roll a thief or a mesmer to avoid the issue entirely.

If you’re too lazy to rework the system just remove it.
