Fix FOTM bunker builds already
There topics are useless and devs seriously cant do anything with such posts.
If you are going to say “nerf bunkers” you will have to say why they are overpowered.
What traits, stats,spells or whatever makes them overpowered and why?
There are more then enough elementalists and guardians who are defensive, but totally are not OP compared to the very few full bunker ones.
Those guys will be nerfed to if you nerf defenses in general, do you want to ruin every single defensive build?
You want everyone to go 100% dps yust because bunkers need to be nerfed, making anything but glass cannon build a waste of time?
if people were more clear about this stuff, arenanet would have a much easier job…

It’s possible to deal with them given condition damage builds with Poison and optionally Chill, and boon removal builds. The bunker builds (Guardian and Ele) are overpowered, but it’s possible to deal with in meantime.

For example you could force them (sustained or condi or burst dmg) into cleansing and healing and now launch your deadly combo …

I think they’ll gonna balance the game based on paid tournaments, not on pug tpvp.
a guardian thats bunker, the 2 bunker specs I use only have condition removal when you use a shout and the shouts all have 30ish sec cooldowns. so you can remove a condition every 30 sec ?
as an ele I can remove conditions constantly though, there is a heal skill on a 15 sec timer that removes all conditions, and you also remove a condition whenever you gain regen, but each of your cantrips gives regen and our 2 healing skills give regen and whenever we dodge roll we heal+remove a condition.
I think the problem is everyone plays a thief or mezmer. thieves and mezmers can burst down a bunker ele, but cant burst down a guardian…. so you hear MORE complaints about the guardian.
the necro and engi would have problems with the bunker ele but since those are the 2 least played, you hear from them less
Bunker Engi gets RUN OVER by rangers necro and mezmer
so its pretty safe to say, bring a necro and run over 2 out of the 3 bunker builds
but
playing a necro will make you less than average against all other classes.
so pick your poison. stay playing your FOTM class and spec (dagger thief 2h mezmer shortbow ranger 100blades warrior) and have problems killing the specs but slaughter everything else.. or play the necro and slaughter these specs and get rolled by what 80% of the rest of the population is playing
Bunker builds only beat poor glass cannon burst builds.
If you have an actual balanced team with good boon removal/ condition application, you can beat bunker builds.
If there were no bunkers, condition /boon manipulators would lose out to glass cannons and every team would just be 5 mobile burst classes.

I haven’t seen a good guardian bunker lose to anything but a good necro so your point is pretty flawed since this build IS good against everything else even if it doesn’t hit hard it will outlast nearly anyone with its constant nearly full heals.

If the bunker is good he will push you out at least as much as you push him out. If you’re not a bunker yourself, you will be forced to give up at some point because you can’t drop him while he can drop you. Under these conditions, only a bunker can counter a bunker. The game shouldn’t be focused around bunkers with every other builds only serving as support to the bunkers.
Bunkers builds are ruining free tournament pug tPvP. People are catching on to this trend. I was just in a game with 3 bunkers builds. 1 guardian and 2 elementalists. It’s simply impossible to dislodge these stupid builds from the nodes. When we miraculously manage to down one of them as a pug, they get revived by their bunker friend (because bunkers are not just specialized in holding nodes but reviving people too), and this goes on and on. When a point is contested it should be instantly grey and not giving points to either team. Unkillable builds are atrociously overpowered with the current PvP objective mechanics. Force people into more balanced builds, if they can’t kill anyone they should suffer for it, just as glass cannons should suffer too. Balanced builds make fun games, but extremes of the build spectrum don’t.

The patch next week will probably have a slew of changes. ArenaNet will most likely want to fix a lot of balance problems before paid tournaments go live next week.
