When we were running BM bunker 3 months ago no one said kitten. This is DD ele all over again go 5 months back its not OP 3 months back QQ starts.

Indeed. And when you ask ppl to point out exactly what changes has put rangers over the top now compared to then, not a single person can do so.

Duuude, our pet now moves behind the target when he is going to attack!

Only in PvE.

@ shimmerless yes and no. If a thief can get in and to a lot of damage and then just autoattack the ranger and interrupt the heal with pistol 4 then it is one of the easiest fights for them. I suck at thief and I have done it before. Raw damage will not win against a BM ranger unless you are a warrior or a guardian. If a thief wants to bring down a BM they have to rupt the heal. If the ranger is using healing spring which is much harder to interrupt then raw damage would be more favored in this situation. If you miss the rupt using SB poison will help a ton.

If you want to be really cruel just drop a caltrops on point and run in circles pew pewing with SB while the pet limps towards you with its perma cripple (ranger condis transfer to pet) and 25 bleed stacks.

But to answer your question to do it rapidly you have to rupt the heal. It won’t be 2 seconds (more like 20) but it will still be pretty “fast”.

May you get nerfed into the ground that hard it’ll take you a century just to figure out how deep you are, fraking hell.

The tittle of your post is misleading then. You are clearly not aiming for a ‘fix’ but for a complete destruction of the profession.

I’d LOVE seeing the class be removed/reworked, so the pet is not a necessity, but rather an option (but given my experience with Anet, they seem to be better at smiter booning things, than actually fixing them or bringing them in line with the rest). The state of the ronger is completely stupid in and off itself, and has been such from the start, much like the mezzzzzmer, and the concept of stealth.

Yes you clearly want both rangers and mesmers to be viable still:

As far as mesmers and rongers are concerned, I’d LOVE to see them disappear alltogether from pvp. Good riddance.

Side note for GW1 vets: I actually thing smiter boon could’ve been balanced out nicely just by making it like divine boon (-1 energy peep, and -1/2 energy on skill usage, with the heal somewhat lower than that of divine boon)

Chances they bring those in line don’t qualify even for an if-scenario, because the classes have been designed in such a perverse manner at their core (AI AI AI AI AI AI and more AI), that nothing but a complete overhaul can save them.
And we all know such things just don’t happen, especially not at this point.

Both classes made a 180 degree turn when compared to their original glory, and I’d rather see them die a swift death than rot away slowly (which they have been doing since the game launch).
Mind that I am also referencing to different types of fixes in my posts other than the OP.
Fixing the bugs I listed initially would at least somewhat improve the overall experience when fighting the ronger. Those are the type we might actually see. When they’re ready.
I’d also like to see fixes to the class as a whole, because AI/pet-bound classes have no place in a pvp game, let alone one aiming to be competitive, but as I already mentioned – it’s not even a waiting-for-Godot scenario, because it simply isn’t an option.

I don’t like mechanics that rely on (kittenty) AI to do your job instead of you actually doing it yourself.

If you can’t micro your pet precisely what’s the point of even having one?

I am not a mmo expert. But as I recall hunters in wow had pets, mages could spawn images of themselves, death knights had ghoul minios and shamans had spirit wolfs. Yet the arena system there seemed to be thriving?

Besides: Wouldn’t that place necromancers and their minions on the ‘delete’ list as well?

Yes you do and some of them I agree with. I think the killing a downed ranger under water issue should be fixed, and having a rangers pet run after you all over the map is just plain annoying.
However: I still don’t like a ‘fix’ post to turn into a vendetta against a class and I kinda felt this topic was turning into that.

The class doesn’t resolve around minions – a mm build is but one of the options.

However: I still don’t like a ‘fix’ post to turn into a vendetta against a class.

I don’t like how they turned two of the best class designs into one big pet mess that has no place in a pvp environment to start with :o)

Last time I checked, wow was not a pvp game, much less a competitive pvp game (aiming for esportz).

Like I said: I am no expert. Never the less it is my understanding that the pvp aspect is thriving in that particular game. That was my only point. There are most likely a lot of better games to compare with only I am not familiar with them.

I don’t like how they turned two of the best class designs into one big pet mess that has no place in a pvp environment to start with :o)

Then should that not be a seperate post. A suggestion maybe, not particularly aimed at the poor rangers who have no influence on how their profession was/is designed but simply enjoy playing it?
