Show me at least one person who thinks Skyhammer should be in SoloQ.
If by some miricle you are able to do so, I will provide a 1000 to every 1 of yours that claims it was the stupidest thing ANet ever did. Considering the last year thats a tall order.
Well start finding that 1k because I think skyhammer is great for soloQ. Team queue definitely not, since I don’t think skyhammer (at least not as it is now) should be in competitive play, and that is more or less what teamQ is trying to emulate.
But in soloQ, it allows everyone to completely swap up their build and run something absolutely broken and OP and fling people all over the map. It is very similar to the style of balance that Dota2 uses, where the game is “balanced” by making everyone equally OP.
That is one of the least intelligent ways I’ve heard people describe Skyhammer, and I’ve read quite a few of them.
It’s pretty annoying that people apologize for this terrible map on behalf on Arenanet, and I think it happens mainly because they’ve played it so much that they are de-sensitized to it, or haven’t played it enough to know how easily you can exploit the mechanics.
No, there isn’t “balance” on that map because stealth pulling is 100% better than any other option. Regardless of how they try to counter you, by blowing cooldowns, evade spamming, etc. you are in total control of the match with a stealth pull build. If you have a team of Thieves and Engis with stealth pull you will probably win 500-50.

No 1k for you.

According to this poll http://strawpoll.me/1666010 31% (roughly the percentage of thieves, mesmers and engis) think that the map should be in soloq. Let’s see, that would make 617k at the moment.
Back on topic,
Metrics and number crunching can be made to mean anything you want. PvP is GW2’s redheaded stepchild, it will always play second fiddle to the real money maker, PvE. I don’t expect any ground breakling changes ever to come to PvP or GvG.

You forget that a small majority don’t play one but play over all classes. So your final judgement would be invalid in the end.
