“Power creep” is going to be unavoidable. A fact is they are going to add new weapons with new 1-5 skills for each profession soon. Everyone complaining of power creep is going to be crying even more. I say bring on the tears!!! New weapon skills will be fun.

many of the sigils will be rebalanced to compensate for the ability to stack two of the same type.

Still this begs the question: why implent this change at all?

Simply adding an additional effect to a weaponset through one additional sigil is effective power creep. Will you rebalance each 2H weaponset to account for each new sigil combination? Again, why bother?

When double 2h builds, such as Longbow / Hammer Warrior, are considered some of the strongest in the game, is that not a red flag for this change?

I understand the concern for buffing Staff Ele or Rifle Engineer, but those weaponsets suffer from very different issues than lacking an extra sigil slot.

It has been your stance since Beta, when players asked about the sigil disadvantage on 2H weapons, that 2h weaponsets would be balanced accordingly. Why has this changed?

Also think about warrior with fast hands ……… battle/geo+doom/earth every 5s then get 2x procs…….will be like having 4x the sigil procs they have now……. lots of op combos using fast hands lol.

Also i felt like 2 handed weapons kind of had a sigil of force build into them ….like he said in video strait power creep( 2 words).

I feel like they announced this before they thought about the combinations…… they either got to nerf all sigils into the ground which will make people mad if they don’t nerf sigils hard it will still make people mad……go back on sigil/weapon changes altogether and people that don’t understand the reasons will be mad…….no winning for anet from this point…

Those sigils have internal CD of 9 seconds. If that weren’t the case, elementalist attunements and engineer kits would probably be more of an issue than warrior fast hands.

now yes , but with the change none of those will share icd …. eles and engi will have the short end of stick actually with the changes(limited to two)……all other classes with get to burst 4 sigils… and 2 every 10s after, warriors can burst 4 sigils and 2 every 5s after. If i am understanding the changes right.

I really have to agree with the notion of double dumbing down skills. I never really played hammer warrior in PvP, and I especially never played in PvE, but with hammer dmg being lowered and now crit dmg being roughly lowered by 10% this has effectively made hammer useless in all PvE content now. Any warrior with a hammer may as equip a tennis racket now for all it’s worth..in fact hammer warriors may as well just take up tennis. The entire weapon set just got double dumbed down. Another forum user accurately stated what the true issue with DPS meta was. The truths were hard and painful, but the reality was the entire dungeon/PvE/WvW system needs to be redone from the ground up because too many mechanics didn’t have enough depth and enemy AI is set to perma stupid. All this change is really promoting is making engagements longer, more tedious and generally anti fun. The defiant/unshakable/unstoppable mechanics trivialised 90% of all skills in game apart from DpS. The lack of diverse DpS professions have lead to players who want to play DpS pretty much only being able to play warrior because any other form or DpS/melee profession just lacks 90% of what warrior has. It feels like low hanging fruit to say their is an issue so we’ll just lower DpS after the introduction of ascended gear which many players have just finished investing hours into to find out what they’ve built is now all about to change so conditioner’s who struggle to do any thing but hit the 25 stack cap can feel slightly more better. These changes don’t effect the meta. Even after these changes all you need is 3 warriors and 2 gaurdians and all content is achievable at it’s fastest rate. Their is no reason to bring any other profession along because they have nothing more to add that warrior/guardians don’t already have the market stitched up on. They may have wanted to avoid a sequel campaign, but the more the core issue is not addressed the more likely it will just take another campaign install to set this all to how it should have been from the beginning, where each profession brings something viable and useful to any engagement and have enough separation so they don’t stand on each other toe’s.

All in all it is just a game. I enjoy playing it, but the grey matter I have between my ears with enjoys logic as a 24/7 thing in my life just can’t understand the thinking here. However, we’ll all just have to see how it pans out.

BEST line ever:

“You’re buffing something, which was not a problem in the first place, and then you realize its too OP, so you butcher every other skill affected by it”

I.E
Buffing immoblize being able to stack, realizing is OP to stack immoblize, they area nerfing the NET turret which was not too much problem in the first place!

Nerfing the bleeding on necromancer which was not a problem in the first place, realizing its underwhelming, they buff dhuumfire, which conlcudes dhuumfire geting butchered coz it was not what they wanted

Stopped listening when he said that thieves could 100-0 people on backstab just because of fire stacking with air. =P

Taking Air/Fire compared to Air/Force -

Yeah.. adding fire to the mix will allow the Thief to inflict 1500 more instant burst damage, but I don’t see that being hugely different to the Sigil of Force giving 450 extra damage on a 9000 backstab. Especially because the Sigil of Force is going to give 5% on every single attack in the next 5 seconds, where Fire Sigil is sitting on kitten CD just before proccing another 1500.

Force is way worse than fire/air ust by doing the math for most classes unless someone can consitently put crazy amounts of damage every 5 sec. Plus it requires dedication to get most of it as it requires youto commit while the instant damage is of proc sigils is better for hit and run tactis
But if you rebalance sigils for stacking then what will happen to old combinations.
There will be no diversity if everybody for example goes from fire/force to fire/air for dps. So waht?? is every sigil gonna get the power of those crappy 10 % more poison ones or everything is gonna be boosted to fire and energy levels?
I dont think this is a good idea.Just a balance check to every sigil in the game should be enough
