Guild Wars 2

So I know this game’s been out for a while, but I’m just getting into it now. That said I’m creating a thread for my own noobish questions relating to PvP, and opening the floor for others who might not have another place to ask questions about things that are quite basic for the majority of the community.

So, first question:

I’ve selected my runes, signets, and amulet through the PvP build menu, and set up my specializations. However, when I press H to open the hero screen, I don’t see the choices I made in the PvP build menu reflected in my gear. That being the case, how do I know if my choices have been applied? Is there something I need to be clicking to “activate” my PvP build?

H is for PvE/WvW, or just to equip gear (gear is cosmetic only in pvp and you get the full armor stats by just wearing body legs and boots).

the pvp build menu is for sigils, runes, amulets, weaponsets and specialisations. the stats will be shown in that menu, right bottom side in the first menu where you also select the weapons and sigils. selecting the stuff “activates” it, when you select something there it’s instantly applied.

Actually this is kinda confusing for many new PvP player, you see the same question in the map chat over and over again.

Wonder why anet not making an instruction window pop up like b4 each match.

Ideally, it would be explained when you first take a character to the PvP lobby, but at least one can get a speedy response here.
