People are actually leaving GW2 PvP
As a game that will always have apex preditors unless we balance for 1v1 players have left and joined in every meta.
Atleast now regardless of spec players die and no more free escapes to bruiser and other sustain types that made glass irrelivant.
If you need to be carried by tanky sustain metas then leave and come back when that is meta again, or adapt.
“Maybe I was the illusion all along!”
I quit pvping for a mix of reasons.
- Balance is wonky.
- Damage is too high.
- Classes are becoming watered down, losing definition.
- Still no 2v2 and 3v3.****It’s a great game, just getting boring without the highly demanded arena, and needs a lot of work after the last shake up. Still have hope though…
omg so much this.
All I see in this thread are people who can’t adapt to a new meta. If you don’t want to make changes to the way you play, don’t ask them to buff/nerf things.
If anyone here is actually leaving and not bluffing then can I have your stuff? Seriously, them dreamthistle skins are back and I need the gold.

People leave, people join – nothing new
You tend to find that the people who leave would leave regardless but they feel that they have to assign blame to the game manufacturer rather than their own inflexibility.
Every thief has access to the same skills and weapons as every other thief, every engi the same access as every other engi, etc.
Observe, adapt and overcome(sometimes).
The only time this isn’t true is when your opponent is somehow cheating such as the time I met a Mesmer who was able to generate 6 active clones at the same time in WvW.
eversince the patch i left my main after 6 weeks of struggling to make it viable again
now I just play to see if they’ll balance it again, farming and trying out new classes and builds
ps might go back to medi guard
Burn spam is really OP. You don’t even have time to heal and u already lose 50% of your hp… Start adding more stuff to PVP. Increase ranks, add more titles, make better rewards. It’s impossible to create legendary out of pvp gold and mats. For real, start making some changes in PVP. It’s not that hard

Yeah no. I loved PvP. I used to love WvW until they just ignored it and its myriad of troubles until every single person in the guild I played WvW with left the game sans maybe 2. Now I’m leaving the game itself because PvP has become utterly inane. To anyone who enjoys the new meta and combat flow and imbalances, good for you. Really. But don’t go saying I would’ve left anyways: I wouldn’t. I’m leaving because the game is not one I enjoy after these changes.
The game is fine, change your builds and bring condi cleanses. These are all (Get Good) problems. If not may I suggest you mail your stuff to whatever newbies you see running around I’m sure they’d love it.
With mesmer toned down, it’s not that bad anymore. d/d ele needs to be brought in line and then it’ll be pretty good.
I’m going to stop pvping not because of the changes but because they are reverting those changes at a steady pace. Pvp was fun for a month, now we’ll see the same stupid kitten boring celestials bruising it out for minutes.
If that sounds like fun for you, good for you but i have seen how much more intense and fun pvp could be but Anet is a bunch of kitten and they’ll just give in to QQ.
I bet there are 50x more newer players joining the game than pvp players leaving it. Publicity and the whole “free base game” gig is luring a lot of players. I wouldn’t underestimate the power of advertisement.
Let’s face it, GW2 PvP players don’t really stick around longer than 3 to 5 months. That’s about the average time it takes to learn every build on every class including your own and proper map rotations.
The incredibly conpetitive players who play Ranked PvP with premades may stick around longer but for the aberage player, casuals, the PvP experience gets not just boring, but frustrating.
There’s 0 incentives to keep playing after a certain amount of hours (months) spent. You have 1 game mode, no leaderboards, and poor pvp rewards. The people who quit were already frustrated with GW2. The drama queens who couldn’t handle the power creeps are the ones who left while others, well, they’re the ones who pushed them out.
Rank: Top 250 since Season 2
#5 best gerdien in wurld
I stopped playing Gw2 because my favorite build ate the nerf bat in the last 3 patches (no I do not play rampage warrior), condi based meta is coming closer and closer with every patch. Ele being completely broken. Other than that … hate to be placed with 4 randoms vs seasoned premade…..yeah … no. Will do the PvE stuff once HoT comes (already pre ordered, kitten me …) and then off to whatever else is out (Fallout 4 anyone? _)
more easy gimmick = more players doing pvp and feel rewarded = more esport…. and probably they can raise from those 300-500 players that watch streams?

^exactly this..
As much i hate mobas and power creep games(on mmo’s side), all players have the opportunity of playing those damage desirable builds, even i ended doing it, and it is much much easy game than gw1 and i consider myself a bad/mediocre player…. i barely need team support to burst any player down and them to me, But it gets bored after some time playing a game where each combat lasts 3-6seconds max it becomes to much redundant and stale, the best strategy is damage output.
But anet is doing this “propaganda” to get more players on their espsorts, but a little bit sanity to the game should not hurt it.
