Pip System is stupid and Inconsistent

haha cuz ppl that get pips after losing or get 2 pip from close games mean that they werent supposed to win. doesnt that mean that they suck and im good seeing as how i lose 2 pips a match? glad anet gives out the participation award and pats ppl on the back for not being good. thats definitely a solution

Games through volume not quality. If you play enough games you will always rise in the system. The amount of time it will take you to rise though is dependent on how much history you have in the system. For every massive mismatch streak where you lose there is, eventually, a massive mismatch streak where you win. If you’re patient enough the system will let you rise regardless of skill.
its fine to lose here and ther, obviously thats going to happen. its just frustrating that the pips are so inconsistent. u lose a match and lose 2 pips, u reproduce the same outcome in another game but u come out with the win and u get 1 pip. none of it makes sense, i wouldnt care if i lost or anything if the games were close but u lose pips faster than u got them in less games. add that with the frustration of long que times, this kitten system is just stupid. The game was much more enjoyable before the expansion and before this trash esports attempt. and yes if ur a solo q or dont have a team that u can que with at all times it blows, cuz like other posts state there are no dividers for premades vs pugs

suppose you are an avarage player with avarage reward (not this one that advantage player to rise in pips) on ruby division you need 2^30 matches to go to diamond.
and 32 matches for every tier in div 2 and 3….
so is impossible for an avarage player.

The pip system can certainly give that impression.
Rather than follow a strict gain/lose X amout of pips that they show you. The system should be running those numbers behind the scene.
On the surface, what they show the player should be something much more straight forward, that doesn’t involve huge 2-3 pip losses.

I’m 51% and I’ll hit Diamond before the league is done. I’m only a few pips off and I mainly soloq. I’ll say it again. This league is a game of volume. Next league I expect to hit the wall at Ruby unless I improve.

as i say, because is designed for help you to go up, reward is not avarage.
you cannot lose pips when you win but you can gain or not lose when you lose a match.
with balanced reward you will be at start of ruby.
