Please remove these dailies, I constantly get teammates or am against players who are playing classes they have NO IDEA how to play simply because they want their daily done. It completely ruins matches regardless of whether you win or lose.

Then you might as well remove pvp dailies altogether since people will sit on a cap point just to get their daily done a few minutes earlier.

That’s fine, if you’re ever encouraged to do something that essentially griefs or doesn’t help your team win it shouldn’t be a daily.

It’s only a problem at low rating though.

Even if it was enabled it wouldn’t be applicable because I’m playing a new class after a 1.5 year break so yes my MMR and skill is OBSCENELY low, thus “ruins low level PVP” in the title.

As someone said the only PVP dailies that should exist are “win as any class”.

I like to think it helps motivate people to try new classes, it is literally the lowest level possible, how else should they learn?

ANet has made class dailies for over 6 weeks now without responding to numerous compalints. ANet does not seem to care about how class dailies impact PvP.

Anet likely didn’t want to remove the armor stats entirely because…well,
we’ve all seen what happens in games where there’s no disadvantage to taking your pants off.

On that I do agree wholeheartedly. A mandatory (per account) tutorial with bots would be a step into the right direction. All the MOBAs have one.

Don’t worry about it. Players will gradually raise in the ranks, so eventually this will not be a huge problem for the lower ranked matches, it’ll be more in the mid and eventually hit rankings.

a) rough patch fix: randomized for each person , so its not 3x engie per team 1 day and next day 3x guard and so on…

b) actual fix: Admitting mistake – no worries pve designer, some fun&shiny stuff just doesnt work in pvp, not ur fault – and remove forcing poeple on their unskilled clasess.

It isn’t just an issue of ‘Play X class’. I had a match where 4 of my teammates run to home at the start and sit on it for the whole match just to get their daily defender and capture.

I think PvE players come to PVP simply because the achievements are easier in PVP. I think PvE dailies need to be more generic. ‘Event Completer’ instead of ‘Brisbane Wildlands Event Completer’ would encourage PvE players to stay there.

Maybe that is why Arenanet did that in the first place to funnel players into PvP, Some my stay most will leave which in theory should improve PvP numbers.

The problem is that people with low MMR get kittened by it.

Have you seen how asspained pvers get about pvp having any rewards? They cry about 3 mediocre armor skins being exclusive to pvp and feeling like they HAVE to do pvp dailies. There’s multiple daily threads on reddit about exactly that and it’s pretty sad to read. Moreover, you constantly have people talk about how they hope the new pvp game mode will use pve armor. Yep.

And it’s been 26 days since they allowed us to character swap without penalty. Plus the impact it has on pvp is it gets people who play the game to play the pvp. It’s implementation without an rng system per account was horrible nonetheless.

The rewards are good but with the constant changing of classes for the rewards it’s really a case of useless at most trades, master of none for me.

I generally only WvW or PvE so can’t spare a lot of time for PvP. I used to main a necro in PvP, but it’s been quite a while since a necro win daily reward came up and after playing thief, guardian, engineer, blah blah, i can’t really play necro well anymore.

I’m really just spamming games until I get on a team that will carry me to a win. No point even looking at builds unless it’s a copycat as, well why bother it’s a different class the next day and the day after that.

I have a second account. For that one PvP dailies are the easiest and quickest. no need to really play at all to get them.

Got to say during busy times it’s quite apparent that in unranked the ‘daily class x’ ruins match ups. I die a little before the start when I see a level 2 character, but even more when you get 3 thiefs on your team. It wouldn’t even be that bad if they knew how to play their class, or call a target, or cap, or move. Or terribad bomb engis…

But my favourite is coming up against LB rangers, who just NEVER weapon swap even when you are right in their face and panic when their godly RF misses or is interupted:-)

Maybe the tutorial should be included ‘how to call a target’ ‘how to prevent a stomp’‘how to res a downed and win the match’ and ‘it doesn’t take 3 to cap an undefended point’ before anyone is allowed out into any matches, might improve the quality a little.

Frankly, if we do add a tutorial, I’d rather just see a rank requirement for ranked fights. Or a minimum of games played/won. Bad enough to see level 3 chars in ranked matches, even worse so when they turn out to be clueless (compared to being alts with the know-how).

The absolute worst part of it is that it could have been adapted to provide the class training people have been clamoring for for months now.

Example:
Instead of “win 5 games as a thief”, it could have been something like “Deal 5k damage with one skill” or “Blind a player 10 times” or “Decap 10 points”.

Don’t look at my examples too literally, they’re just off the top of my head, but look at the intent. If Anet had tailored the class dailies to teaching players the strengths/preferred role of the class in PvP, they’d be making players better in the process.

If you’re a thief and haven’t
pre-ordered HOT at this point,
save yourself the money and don’t bother.
