Please no more Perma Blind...
Still funny to see so many war players who pretty much spam random stuns all day long whining about a mid to low tier glass spec that spams (And again bp is not spammable at all due to its init cost) something that don’t even damage just in order to stay alive…are you seriously qqing because you can’t get (Arguable cause decent warriors actually CAN) one spec while you can still faceroll pretty much everything else? I mean…are you kittening serious?

I can sense neither of you read the rest of the thread. If its getting too long for people to read the rest of whats said just don’t bother.

God this is one of the best threads i’ve seen in forever hahahaha!
As someone who plays a few classes
Guard (main)
Thief (when i want to spike people)
Warrior (when i feel like facerolling, not to say that they are bad just if you’re decent they literally faceroll all the other classes, maybe not at the same time)
And it is funny to read these comments.
First OP. You’ve got a point. Blind is actually one of the only hard counters to heavy hitting melee and for warriors of the greatsword, mace, and especially hammer variety it is a bane. And thieves, mainly X/P ones, its is a very easy thing to access.
And BP with its high init cost (which is pretty easy to get out seeing most thieves specced for high init regen), its decent lasting time (like 4 secs i think?),a hitbox that seems a bit bigger than what it looks like, and high reapply rate at first it can seem really daunting to fight against.
But i promise you not only do warriors have the tools to not just deal with but 100% counter that entire build but even without those tools just playing against it right you just roll over the thief.
Lets say you have the tools you’re FOTMing it up. You’re running stances.
Beserks just counters it. They place it down you now become immune to 100% of (modified and unmodified) conditions. Alright continue as you were before. Just land one of like 6+ stuns and bam thief dead or at 20%.
Okay you don’t want to beserks it. All you have to do is back up a little bit. The range i a bit hard to judge i’ll admit but if if you just back out of BP you can just hit him from outside of it. Especially if he’s trying to trade blows with the attack.
Okay so you don’t want to play with blackpowder or he’s trying to whirl around with you. Alright back up a bit (which in he has to chase you if he wants to get any use out of that skill. Just Earthshaker right on top of yourself. Or use a bit more skill and hit him with any of the other stuns. Bam thief once again dead.
And you know i’ve never had a time. When a thief was doing the whirl where i was not only out of both of my dodges but also out of ever stun i had. even if i wasn’t FOTM having a single sword = easy counter/out dmg. Greatsword = 100 blades = easy counter/out dmg. Off hand mace / ranged knockdown/ out dmg. hell both bow and rifle counter that specific setup/combo.
Don’t get me wrong. Anyone who complains about where thieves are don’t/can’t play one well We have like 2 – 3 very viable builds that to the unsuspecting, unwary, inexperiences just doesn’t give a chance for counterplay (you know cuz their thieves).
But as a almost every build we have is viable. And along with playing well we counter almost every other class without having to give up traits and or weapons. Blinds are the closest thing to a hard counter towards warriors and really it only helps with bad ones
I hate L2P responses but getting beaten by a easy to counter mechanic like BP /+ war steal isn’t a issue with thieves
The underlying issue regarding thief blinds is not the black powder, is the passive trait that applies an AOE blind every time they stealth. When combined with D/P stealth this produces an abscene amount of aoe blind spam that hits ppl outside of the powder.
Its odd that this trait has no internal cooldown. Most blind skills are single target with 20+ cooldowns, yet this trait on D/P is throwing out aoe blinds every 3 or 4 seconds, even faster at times since each HS that stacks stealth sends out a fresh blind.

I never said zerker stunlock warriors didn’t need toned down, but this wasn’t about that. Make your own thread about how something else annoys you (which im sure you already did, and you got told you were stupid because there’s another FOTM build that can crush that build too.) Doesn’t make blind spamming any more fun just because a certain build is OP. Its still just as boring to fight.
D/p thief doesn’t spam blinds. You are spamming blinds on yourself by standing in the field. Learn the difference.
not when you’re a warrior and they’re using steal whirl combo (and maybe their elite too?)
So you stood in a stolen axe skill and a blind field AT THE SAME TIME? Impressive.
please come back when you know how whirl finishers work instead of embarassing yourself.

This is my ignorance, they did stealth a lot too, but I didn’t realize this trait existed, so maybe its not all black-powder, but the spam-factor was definitely there, even when I wasn’t “standing” in the blackpowder, so this at least makes a bit more sense as to where all the spam was coming from, but it doesn’t make it any more fun to play against.
