Hey guys!

Hate to say it….but the post title is the truth….

Lets set aside my love for Thief and how they’ve been destroyed. (I’ve pushed through to Diamond with my Rev…..what a surprise…..)

My favorite parts of the game, PvP (sPvP and WvW), are DEAD.

I don’t mean this as in they are dead because of the horrible balance and current meta. But the death is a direct result of the above….

What I mean is just six weeks ago I would enter the Mists and there would be people everywhere testing builds and sitting in que, playing the sPvP. I go in there now and I am lucky if I see 10-15 people in the entire zone. The place is a ghost town. And que’s are taking longer and longer and longer….because nobody’s playing.

Ontop of the sPvP having no one in it. The Esports scene has gotten a terrible wrap in the gaming public’s eyes due to the pro teams exploiting their games system for their own gain. Most other Esport games have seen this as a weak community and boiled GW2 down to a joke of a game that doesn’t deserve any coverage…..and that’s exactly what has happened….no one has covered GW2 esport except Anet because no one wants to cover a game who’s pro’s are considered cheaters. This is Anet’s fault and the pro’s fault equally. They have both ruined any chance GW2 had of being taken seriously, and first impressions stick! And for what…..a marker next to their name that will be gone in a month…..that was worth it!

Wrap it all up with the new WvW maps literally not having 1 single player on them. And the old WvW map being screwed up with these auto upgrade timers making it a ghost town most of the time….and you have the title….

On the plus side, even a PvP’r like me has found something to love in the PvE. The raid…..man….I haven’t had this much fun in PvE since Vanilla WoW and EQ times….why is the raid so fun with friends?

Anyway, pull some people off your PvE team and stick them on your PvP team. You need to strengthen your weakness’. And right now, GW2 PvP is a big hole in the head.

Heart of the mists is more packed than ever befor, you probably were in a low pop shard because the other instances are full

well, if ANet continues like this, then yes…. Ppl continue because they wanna grind out legendary, but it’s not fun at all and soon most ppl will realize. It’s not fun on the lower levels or MMR, it’s not fun in the middle and it’s not fun at the top. GW2 PvP is IMHO in the worst state it has ever been and that actually says a lot.

GW2 survived cuz at it’s core, it’s an amazing game, but ANet can’t keep making mistake after mistake, not support PvP and not listen to the community. And I’m not necessarily talking about the forum-trolls, but the actual PvP community that cares deeply about this game.

The League-System needs a major overhaul, MMR as well and we desperatey need soloQ and a teamQ that offers enough unique reward so ppl will actually want to Q as a team. You know, like the tournaments we’ve had that got cut for no apparent reason.

Far from the truth. I have been around since launch and pvp has increase it’s population for sure. After Anet increase the loots system to include reward tracks, pvp participation skyrocketed. Now with league, it has also garner more attention. I have never seen so many people in the mist. Of course, the game isn’t balance and I’m sure they are well aware of it. So come January, they will release a major balance patch. Hopefully that will fix some of the bunker meta issues.

Tfw 90% of the proleagues twitch chat just trash the game/devs. I regularly watch smite too that that isnt the case lol

A lot of non PvP-ers(me and my friends included) joined because of the leagues. Ye balance is broken and we all play dragonhunters(wup wup ez wins) but still, we’re PvPing, which we never did, so I gotta say PvP is in a good place now. Also, what others said, lots and lots of people in HotM
