where are you going to train, seriously what boxer can you name is wrecking all around fighters? MMA has shown that guys like cung le, anderson silver and mirco cro crop absolutely destroy 1 dimensional fighters.
Which brings up my next point, they earned there black belts threw training and hard work. It doesnt mean there the best fighter but the fact is they put there work in to earn it. Someone coming of the streets might be able to beat them but guess what take the best 4 players you know and go up against the abjured, cunning stunts, radioactive, apex and etc and the result would be the same as you fighting a pro champion mma fighter who holds a title for what he does.
Most players will lose to the tournament teams because the tournament teams don’t care about titles and show how good they are… in tournaments.
Pro MMA fighters don’t care about blackbelts, many of them don’t even hold a rank at all. And your average tough guy with no training will destroy your average TKD or karate black belt.
Titles are fake. If you want people to know you’re good at something, be good at something.

Who’s talking about “being good”? I’m only talking about something to show dedication to the game. Whether that translates into “good” or not is irrelevant. No one looks at a player with a legendary and says “That guy must be good”. It does however mean that they spent a lot of time grinding – either for the mats or for the gold.
We just want something similar for PvP – something that Anet can fulfill without cost or effort. Titles, skins, minis. Whatever. Something.
People are misinterpreting or disregarding the concept that people want gradual progression rewards. A title like Champion Brawler is fine as a long-term goal, but there’s a serious lack of short-term PvP goals between achieving rank 80—which many people have done since the glory patch—and that title. Why?
If players are expected to play the game for the enjoyment of the mechanics alone, then I wonder why there are any medals, chests, or rewards in the game as a whole.
I think PvP-exclusive dyes, minis, gizmos, consumables, or armor/weapon skins would be a nice way to reward players for dedicating their time and energy to that particular game mode.
couldnt have put it better

Your comments are based on nothing, seriously nothing. You say most mma fighters dont care which is bull since most of these guys brag about being a brown belt in grace BJJ as well as people like ronda rousey being a black belt and a bronze medalist in judo as well as daniel cormeir being a olympic medalist in wrestling. Also Gsp started MA in what thats right karate as well as lyota machida. Joe rogan and mike greenberg talk all the time of these guys backround with martial arts and who they worked with. Guys from holland who worked with ernesto hoost, american kickboxers who worked with jerry trimble, guys like carlos condit training in china wish the monks.
You said you did MA for decades and say people walking in on the streets were beating people like you and others you know which shows the problem there is not 1 person who has been playing this game for 1 month who is gonna beat a player been playing this game since pre.
Lastly since your comments are horrible and are based on nothing, how did kimbo do against pro fighters? How about brett rodgers vs a old fedor? Its the very same thing here, the best players in th egame deserve recognition for time played/ games won/ tourneys won/ etc etc. Your comments all around are horrible and are just your opinion yet you act like there facts. All in all i find you to be a keyboard warrior at this point.
For people that play PvP only, the rank system won’t have even been glanced at for years.
It’s a non feature. Many of us had multiple rank 80 accounts the day they implemented it. But that discussion has long past. Just accept there is no progression system in PvP beyond an introductory 80 ranks.
If you want a reward play some tournaments. You won’t get a title, but minis/gems are very generously awarded.
