Remove illusions/clones/phantasms once mesmer is downed
Yep totally get that Wolfen, and it also shows the minor difference and easily how people can get confused.
How would you explain 7:50 on the other video though? It shows a downed state on the clone, as well as a smaller target arrow, before mesmer is spawned behind.
7:51 makes it clearer that it is actually the downed arrow with skull mark over clone, but he defo has 2 arrows.

and the arrows are different…
Target arrow. The downed arrow is above the character making the video. At 7:51, you can see the downed arrow on the mesmer appearing directly behind the clone.

I guess that’s because when the clone spawns, the ele “auto targets” him, hence the targeting arrow.
Usually, i just press esc, then it’s easy to stomp the real one.
That’s the point I was raising in that clones do have downed arrows, and 7:50 isn’t just a targetting arrow. It’s both on a clone.
Nope.
I don’t know how to explain this better. It’s like you’re not reading it.
There is no downed arrow on the clone.
7:50 shows a downed arrow on the ele, target arrow on the clone. Moments later, the real mesmer appears behind the clone and has a downed arrow above him. The clone and the mesmer are really close to each other, and the camera angle is kind of kitten but it’s easy to see that the downed arrow is not above the clone.
Theboz 7:51 shows 2 downed arrows, one for ele, one for clone and 1 target arrow on the clone. Are you watching the same video?
The downed arrow doesn’t disappear, meanwhile, the targeting arrow is always on your target, hence, if you change or close your target the targeting arrow changes target or disappear.
What you see on the video on the clone is not the downed arrow, it’s the targeting one, if the ele would have pressed esc then the targeting arrow would have disappeared, leaving the mesmer easy to spot.

Target arrow, for the umpteenth time.
Looking closer at the video it’s clear the clone does not have the downed arrow. The mesmer goes down and has the target reticule and the downed arrow. Then he disappears. The guy is looking around everywhere and then the clone shows up with only a tiny red triangle signifying it is the target, then behind a him second later appears the real mesmer with the downed arrow. The camera angle makes it look like they may both have the downed arrow, but a second later the camera pans to the right and you can clearly see the clone in front with nothing but a tiny red triangle, and the real mesmer with the big down arrow.

Donwed state arrow over clones head. Big arrow with a skull on correct?
Hsulf… Yes. The big arrow with a skull. Can you see how it’s not actually above the clone but to the left? That is the real mesmer half a second before coming out of stealth. Like 2 seconds after that frame you see the camera move to the right and you can clearly see the real mesmer behind the clone.
And just incase somebody argues that’s not a skull, inserting a picture .5 seconds before the previous picture showing 2x skulls.

Oh my god man how can you mistake the ele’s downed arrow for the mesmer’s. /facepalm

I give up
There are two downed arrows.
Yes. One for the real mesmer and one for the ele.

There are three arrows, one downed arrow on the elementalist, one targeting arrow on the clone and another downed arrow on the hidden mesmer that is about to spawn.
That downed arrow can’t be the clone’s one, since it’s far on the left from the clone’s body.

This is correct. Three things to consider and then Mesmer stomp becomes reasonably easy.
1) Once they disappear, clone will always reappear first
2) Only the real Mesmer will ever have a downed arrow above their head
3) Turn off auto targeting
