So capping points in conquest isn’t PvP but escorting NPC’s and killing the NPC lord is?
‘PvP’ and ‘deathmatch’ are not synonymous.

Didn’t you get that memo? Players like OP don’t actually like PvP, it’s the same as MO saying all WvW players only like PvE hence all the PvE mechanics there.
I think stronghold is a good concept, but there is just too many different mechanics going on at once. Treb, escorting door assaulters, collecting crates to summon door assaulters, defending your lane, assaulting the enemy lane, collecting essence to summon elite npc and then killing the lord.
Its just too much, particularly for 5v5. Stronghold might in fact be a great map type if it was 8v8 instead of 5v5.

PvP and deathmatch worked very well in gw1 thank you very much. In fact it was the best made pvp to this day. Dancing around a circle is yes less competitive when having 2 teefs take the circles by just using bow 5 all game.
Circle dancing isnt pvp I’m sorry if you think it is. Deathmatch is pvp but since anet ruined Deathmatch with a small map they ruined pvp. Forcing people to dance on a circle takes the competitiveness away.
At least in stronghold there is some stratagy and you have a chance at carrying baddies. In circle dancing one bad player randomly on your team and its over for you.

Actually i enjoyed getting legendary in seasons 1-4 in stronghold and had a 102-9 season record at the end of season 2 ( 5 were lost conquest games ). Conq is just a trashy half attempt at pvp that anet tries to prop up. Balancing classes isn’t the issue it’s circle dancing.

PvP is player vs player. Anything that puts players against other players is PvP. Conquest is PvP and it’s no less so than Stronghold which you seem so adamant about.
You praise PvP in GW1 then what’s your opinion about Alliance Battles?
