Soloq and Team q (duo, trio and full premade)
I think it would be amazing
/bump
Very good scenario

I like this

………..
It would be really great and super fun.
………….
this is where u lost anet. they haven’t been considering fun in their pvp plans for quite some time.
good ideas tho
It’s not like we asked for that since the stupid merge of the solo with the team Q…
What do you think about this? :
When queueing as a team the highest MMR is considered for the whole team.
- That would make teaming with lower MMR players useless yet possible.
- That would increase the overall MMR for the matchmaking algorithms, so I think (I might be wrong) that would reduce the queueing times for high MMR teams.
- It is still possible to reduce the MMR to achieve better queueing times if a team of 4 queues as a team of 4, and a random low MMR player is assigned to fill the group. That would be more fair than having a low MMR player of their choice.

I think is not really fair if the entire team takes the higher mmr.
Maybe Anet could limit the grp composition if there is too much difference in mmr/division between members (for example not possible going with diamond/legendary + amber).
This is not easy to solve because I understand there is people who want to play with friends that for many reasons started leagues after or can’t have the same progression rhythm like other players for several reasons (real life stuff most of all) or simply they have a very long queue for high mmr/division players and are penalized for their progression for this reason.
At least, for a soloqueue, this is automatically fixed
With the scenario I’ve illustrated, you have for sure a better experience like solo and team grp.

Sounds good
But it needs to be looked at from the perspective of “what could go wrong”
Killing 4 man que creates more discord than it would seem
Especially for pvp guilds → 4 men are online, can’t find a 5th so you have to boot someone out? That isn’t good for community

Well, 4 men have several options
3 queue in ranked and 1 in soloqueue
double duo queue in ranked
find a 5th and go in ranked
duo in ranked + other 2 solo guys in soloqueue
4 in solo queue
I think in this way there are too many advantages for the more popular gw2 composition, more challenging and more fun for everyone.
Really little downsides, for sure A LOT less than now.
If Anet added only a soloqueue, without restrictions for team queue, we would have always imbalanced games in ranked with and a solo chance in team queue but basically useless if there is a dedicated soloqueue.

I think queueing times would increase a lot for the team queue.
As duo or a trio you must wait for a complementary team, since you can’t fill the group with 2-3 solos or duo+solo.
I don’t mind sharing the queue (as a solo queuer) with teams. I may end up facing a whole team with a group of 5 solos sometimes, but there is also a chance that I fill the group for a less-than-5 team.
The matchmaking system should take into account that a team is usually better than the sum of the individuals (I don’t know if it does), and one way of doing this is what I suggested: Use highest MMR of the team for the whole team.
There are probably better ways, though.

At the same time you could add more rewards to team queue to push more people to join in duo, trio, full premade.
The issue now is you get many unfair games with the actual system, like 1112 vs 5 or 1113 vs 5 or 221 vs 5, 1112 vs 14 , 11111vs5 etc.
And basically always u lose a pip if u lose against a premade.
Maybe you can have a bit longer queue but for sure you will have a better and challenging game in this way.
And more people will try team queue if there is more fun and challenging for everyone.
I would rather not have seperated queues again since that would raise the queueing times by a lot.
Personally i actually enjoy fighting premades since you mostly get matches of better quality against teams with proper coordination.
I want to point out, that is absolutly is possible to win against premades and usually those games are the ones that have the chance of giving 2 or 3 pips.
In the team /solo q system i always queue for team queue even when i was alone as solo q was not as fun for me.
Never let facts interfere with your opinion.
R.I.P. Liquid World Experience
I don’t see the point to have a shorter queue if i get a game i can’t win and i lose pips for this.
People would be always mad if this happens
So I agree with OP, the right way is to lower the chances this can happen and with this separation for sure this can happen less and you have more quality games and more challenging.
And a very good solo experience.

Another way it could be add a solo queue but put more restrictions (=filters)on roster composition in team ranked queue to avoid full premades against soloers (or similar) and modify odds when you face a full premade (basically almost always no pips loss).
