Guys, I wanna dedicate this topic to say thanks to all of you who have trash-talked me just because I’m on #1 leaderboard. I don’t even wish to be #1 and play just for fun and yet these mature people unleashed their wrath to me (maybe they hate pvp leaderboard algorithm but can’t express it very well like most mature people). My feeling doesn’t get hurt when they say I’m so noob yet I’m on #1 (Well, my name says I’m noob XD). No worry guys, I will descend from #1 since I don’t plan to stay at the top. I don’t care the rank for that matter XD.

Some people even feel so accomplished 2v1 me XD. so Thanks!

Serious suggestion to Anet: could you hide my char name? (Even though I know they probably won’t see or do anything)

While I feel it is unfair for people to hate on your for being #1 I find it hard to believe that you don’t want to be highly ranked on the leader board when you have played 182 games in about 3 days.

They’re just kitten that their pro-teams who roll with a full meta setup and TS arent getting the same points for a win that a random solo-queuer who has to face them over and over with his necro-mesmer-ranger-thief + random setup gets for winning against them.

Sadly that’s the state of the leaderboard atm. Being top isn’t an achievement, it doesn’t reflect player skill because the devs want to give an equal chance to players less skilled (because logic, right?) and consequentially the system gets moaned about.

Scenario #1:
Unfortunately, the top-ranked players on that board make easier targets to vent on than the developers, despite the fact that it’s not their fault. People are stupid.

Scenario #2:
Those players actually think the board is a reflection of skill, and think you must be good. Unfortunately a lot of people enjoy seeing someone who is highly rated fail, more than they enjoy seeing someone succeed. So when you lose to them or get caught in a 1vX and don’t appear to be "godmode," you get trolled.

Unfortunately, there are some nice people and some not so nice. Just read map chat….. That tells you a lot. For instance, someone new asks a valid question….some are very helpful, others, just nasty.
Just play, have fun and hang with friends. Congratulations btw! Someone has to be number one!

Silly me, Like Laniya says, there are some nice people and not nice. Thank you for bringing it to my senses and a cheering-up comment. Probably won’t hold rank 1 for long though.

Btw I must commend the algorithm for matchmaking. I keep getting harder opponents when I win and vice versa. I think It works pretty good even though occasional “4vs5” and “noobs vs gods” sometimes happen (only a few times).

Stupid to hate on you. You have a lot of time on your hands, hopefully just this weekend and are able to do 182 matches in 3 days? Good for you, since that’s the best way to get high up on the ladder. You’re not half bad, too, if you sucked, it would be more frustrating. Think about getting some sleep, though. For your own health.

You’’’ll find people and trolls like that are more irritated if you kill them with kindness. Just replay back with a “Thanks!” or a “Yeah man it was pretty hard while playing on my laptop on the toilet. I appreciate your compliments!(jk)”. Or just block them
