What the problem is,
You can easily do a daily x profession win. Via hotjoins.

What thing is,
Nobody wants to do hotjoins. Hotjoins are terrible now, always lopsided, point of the game is to win rather than have fun. Nobody will join the losing team, which makes it lopsided.

Back in the days, point was to have fun, you got points based off of performance, it was not a huge deal to join the ‘losing team’, actually you were forced teams which when it was better than allowing you to pick your team.

There should be 5 servers in hotjoins, 8v8, FORCED teams ON. If people like them, make more servers like it. This way it prevents lopsided teams and people waiting to join the winning team in spectate mode.

But again, you can easily do your daily via hotjoins, but nobody does hotjoins. ranked gives you just as much points losing as a hotjoin win gives you. No incentive for hotjoin. Thus people doing daily on ranked and losing because they haven’t played particular profession lately and not as good as they once was.

Then the people going to Unranked/Ranked for the profession wins don’t know how to get easy autowins for their Dailies in Hotjoin. Let me teach them how to do it:

1. Join a match. If there’s a clear disparity in team strength, join the winning team.

2a. If you cannot join the winning team because of team imbalance, wait to see if someone joins the losing team (in which case, join the winning team), or someone on the losing team ragequits/goes back to Spectate, forcing Autobalance.

2b. If the teams stay unbalanced, join the losing team yourself. This will almost certainly prompt one of the Spectators to join the winning team. Now go back into Spectate yourself to force Autobalance.

3. ALWAYS volunteer for Autobalance. Doing so will give you the win credit for the match (counting towards the Daily), even if you lose.

4. That’s it. Play the rest of the match stress-free knowing you’ve got your Daily done no matter what.

And that’s how you can get your Daily Profession wins easily in Hotjoin, sometimes within less than 5 mins. Now you can leave the Unranked/Ranked servers to the serious PvP’ers, if all you’re there for is to do your Dailies.

The new system is awful for a player who solo queues. I’m constantly getting matched against players that are partial or full premades while my team is complete randoms. How the hell would anyone think this would be fun? A team that has a strategy and coordination in advance vs a bunch of strangers? The previous system where only solo queued players would face others was better. Now you might say go make a team. Well I login only an hr at a time and my schedule doesn’t line up with others

First I thought it was weird why so many inexperienced players join ranked PvP, the logical thing, if you are new to the game or the profession would be to start with hotjoin or unranked right? Nope.
I wanted to try out guardian, having never played guardian before in sPvP I decided to learn it by playing some unranked games. First map Courtyard we won with like 500 to 35 spawncamping their team, second map Skyhammer. After that I think I got a decent map but still.. you have these god awful maps where you basically learn next to nothing.

Pretty sure I just spent the last few hours constantly solo queuing up against the same two 5-man premades constantly, with maybe only a game or two in between where the perception (as opposed to queuing up against the same team repeatedly to ascertain them being a premade is a fact) would be that the matchmaking made “fair” matching decisions.

Now, one could argue NA off hours and such so that you would end up seeing that the MMR matches could potentially be fair, but maybe we should allow some player-driven options like deciding if I want to wait for a queue to fill with solo players, or being able to select an alternative (putting me in with pre-made player groups).

Or, you know, Solo Queue. Like that eventual decision that led to a Solo Queue to begin with that players have to start fighting for from near square one again in order to get back, again, because, again, we have to explain why the system is punishing to solo players to the degree that it removes enjoyment from the game entirely.

Sidebar:
Maybe also we should create an in-game chat “shoutcaster” of sorts, that relayed relevant information to the player throughout the match as though they were getting a basic detail team communication? Not necessarily needed, most of the minimap display is good enough, but I meant it to replace teamchat entirely in a possible future solo reinstatement setting (map and say chat as well). I mean, you can already do this manually to some degree, I’m just making the comment to emphasize how toxic the community is and how often the block and report buttons have to be used when you’re queuing, and the thought process is that it would be nice if something could at least simulate a communicative and respectful team, as opposed to how awful people are to each other and towards the purpose of the game currently.

Did I mention bringing back a solo friendly environment?

To avoid direct harassment towards a single player regarding their MMR, I have a proposed solution:

-Show personal MMR
-Show the average MMR of the rest of your team

That way you have a way to gauge if the rest of your team is in theory better/worse than you without being able to single someone out.

So lets say you’ve got a team with 4 people with an MMR of 50 and one person with an MMR of 20.

The people with the MMR of 50 will see their team’s MMR as 42.5 and obviously their own MMR.
The person with the MMR of 20 will see that the rest of their team has an average of 50.

The main problem I can see with this is that unless your MMR was exactly the same as the combined average of your team, you’d think you were better/worse than the rest of your team, which might actually ignite more elitism.. Although I tend to think that elitists will be elitist whatever you do.

Alternatively, and I think I prefer this option, you could show the average MMRs of each team after the match.

I think the only reason people want to see MMR is to work out if their team just played badly, or they’ve been screwed over by poor match-making.

If you lose 500-200 and at the end of the match it turns out your team had an average MMR of 60 while the other team had 150, you’d go “Well, okay, we weren’t likely to win that anyway.”

And on the flip side, if you had the reversed MMR and you lost, you’d go “Okay, so what went wrong there?”

If displaying actual numbers is an issue, give us a fancy graphic with some comparison of MMRs (either individual or team).

Essentially, it comes down to wanting more information.

All the MMR numbers are completely arbitrary.

Courtyard, yes that map is terrible, its not the traditional GW2 point capture. Nobody wants Deathmatch style GW2.

Skyhammer, that map is good and great way to test your skills.

Now, that’s a subjective statement if I’ve ever read one.
