Turret Engies = are OVERPOWERED
The fact that you should have to ignore a turret engi and let him have a point just strengthens the idea that they’re too powerful. No class should be able to singly handedly hold a point like the current turret engis do. Not even bunker guardians or warriors in their prime were as effective.
That is their only purpose..not defending the point but holding it like a tower defense game. They are killable just not with most meta specs(of course) and other non conquest actions. I personally don’t understand why conquest is the main mode but turrets should rule(they are not) in it logic wise. If you can’t beat it you can still out rotate and win.
The Dhuumfire thread
Even in the one deathmatch map just had it ruined by turret engie that the team just bunked around. Just couldn’t get close.
Happiness runs through me when fighting them and my team as 3 pew pew rangers, let me guess everyone was running head on glass melee which is fading away?
The Dhuumfire thread
I don’t get this philosophy of just ignoring a point and focusing on the other two. Just because it becomes 5v4 it doesn’t make that much difference.
This is firstly because there is enough rotation within 4 players dying and returning to a point to at least contest a single point for the entirety of the match. This means that at the very least there will be one point each held and one contested point, making an engineer capable of guaranteeing at least a ‘draw’.
Equally for you to be successful you have to successfully split into two separate matches (i.e. 3v2 & 2v2). However one of these matches will always be equal and this means there will be an equal matchup on one of the points which means that the engineer team will again be able to, at the very least, contest their way to a ‘draw’ or win if their 2v2 beats the opposing 2v2.
Finally, a lot of people assume it will be as simple as Point A capped by engi, Point B capped by other team and then Point C is always won as it is 5v4. The fact of the matter is that players rotate cap points so even though its 5v4 it is unlikely there will ever actually be a single 5v4 matchup.
This argument of ‘if you see an engi bunker just ignore it and win elsewhere’ makes zero sense because it asks you to ignore 1/3 of all points with no obvious advantage
