Vee Wee's Thoughts About GW2
Vee Wee isn’t Courtyard DM? Why Arenas?
Good question my frand! Deathmatch and arenas are two different game modes! DM is what you see in courtyard and the way it’s set up just boils down to spamming AoE and whoever dies first usually costs their team the victory in a vicious spawn camping snowball effect! Arenas, on the other hand, should be played on a much smaller map than courtyard with less people! 3v3 on a tiny map with objects that you can hide behind for line of sight purposes! When you die, you are out! No respawns!
The LoS objects shouldn’t be too big, otherwise you can just kite forever around it until your cooldowns come back up! That’s not fun either!
Hope that helped! Wahoo! Bye frands!
Wouldn’t no respawn cause the exact same snowball effect? And why not just change how the respawns work for 5v5 courtyard? And AOE spam is your opinion of it I’m sure a lot of WvW players would say there is a lot more to zerg fights then spam AoE. And in 5v5 individual play is still very important.
And honestly I don’t really mind Arenas or anything I just don’t see a reason for them lol I guess I’m play the devils advocate here lol.
The snowball effect would not happen because there would be rounds. Lose the first round, your team and come up with a new strats and positioning etc. That would be fine to have a 5v5 courtyard arena. But why not have 3v3 as well(IMO much much better suited to this game)?
And for the off chance any Anet developer reads this, I think I understand your attitudes a little bit more now. The predominating thought many of you have is that we’re playing the game wrong, or we’re using mechanics the wrong way. That we haven’t figured out how to react to “perceived imbalances”.
This is probably the biggest issue with the game. The devs have an idea of how the game should be played and refuse to accept that players feel differently.
You can see their attempts at forcing players toward their vision. Just look at the new trait system where the devs are basically creating builds for the players as opposed to creating interesting traits and letting players create builds.

Yep, killing diversity, what guildwars1 pvp was all about. Making mass cookie cutter builds that anyone can use.
Bleh no wonder PvP is in such a stalemate after every balance patch.
not agree on warrior being gods.
still depend on actual player skill.just because a very small handful of players play warrior good, does not mean warrior needs to be nerfed, again.
warrior doesnt need to be nerfed when it removes 100% of all condition builds from the meta?
Easy fix. Soldier runes now have a cooldown.
Edit: runes of the trooper*
@Blackjack
not true at all.
warrior does not removes 100% condition builds from the meta at all.
and for your information, conditions are still what effectively puts down warriors in the meta.
@Vegito
no, runes of the trooper (previously known as soldier) is fine and balanced, certainly does not additional recharge time.
you all people tend to so conveniently forgot that many conditions are more easily re-applied than removed.
Stop giving him attention and he stops, ok.
Would you please:
Stop dedicating time of your life spewing mild hatred onto this lovely individual.
Thank you!

Gw2 is a masterpiece at it’s foundation. Content-wise however…
i agree with your post because you make good points
we just want arenas or more cap point maps, i play guildwars2 because i dont want to play dota style maps and now with stronghold your forcing a bandwagon upon us probably because of investors
fanboys are so tunnelvisioned they take criticism as trash talk

Bring on the arenas! Seriously you could take black citadel’s bane, set up a simple annhiliation round system and bam, new arena gamemode.

Wtf lol. Suggesting anet uses already existing game assets to implement the 2v2/3v3 arena everyone is asking for? Wow, you must think they are sensible or something.
currently a Boyfriend main :P
Waiting To ReRoll Mystic & Forget About Tyria
They are introducing a dota style map because it more closely resembles what we had in GW1 where PvP was tolerable instead of being the joke that it is now.
Maps where there is nothing stopping you from contesting objectives leads to a toxic and anti-fun gameplay it seems. If anything it’s because those maps have a counter-intuitive dynamic.
Imho the main objective should be extremely obvious to everyone while the means of getting that objective should be hard. Instead we have absolute clusterkitten of a map where players don’t understand what’s going on for weeks, but begin to find it painfully easy once they do.
As it stands, kills outside a certain area make you lose. Like, seriously? For example one strategy I had lots of success with lately was harassing people on the way to the node if I have the said node. It puts them in a lose – lose situation where attacking me puts their team further behind, while ignoring me means taking unnecessary damage.
That’s only the tip of the iceberg of lame strats one can play.

Arena will not happen any time soon, just look how hard they are pushing stronghold, that is their baby now, and that is def not arena material.
I find the hate for conquest laughable. Most players who want other game modes overlook all the negative aspects of those modes while listing false or extremely overblow issues with conquest. The main problem with conquest is it’s hard for players to learn map awareness and rotation through gameplay.
