Why does this happen? Both teams confirmed they were all solo players. The match was ridiculous, not fun, and obviously the “most engis wins” mantra was in full effect.

It’s because of the daily engineer achievement.

Dont believe them just beause they say they are all solo. Hit the B button and see if they are grouped. You just right click on their name. If you dont have the option to invite them to a group means they are already grouped. 9/10 that many engies are at least duo grouped.

Personally I don’t think a class daily should even exist in terms of solo and ranked que. It’s an open invitation for unbalanced comps and kittened off people. Keep a daily and or achievement like that in the cesspool that is hotjoin.

Sadly even on non “daily engineer winner” days there are still 4-5 engis in every match. But I do agree, I think the daily _ winner is a horrible idea. How about just simply, “daily winner”. A win on any class will satisfy the requirement.

Daily winner for winning pvp match in any class in overall is much better, and in order to avoid this, you have to queue with full party and hope that you meet another premades. This happens so much in ranked where solo turret engies bunk a certain point and map chat about how their teammates suck when they are the ones that cause 4v5 all the time.

Personally I am not unhappy to see a lot of engi’s provided they are not running turrents. At least with engi’s they will generally fight on point.
However when I see daily thief, Mesmer, ranger or generally any class that has a perceived easy spec that doesn’t involve standing on point I cringe.
Having a team that is made up primarily of roaming or ranged specs can often lead to rather frustrating matches both for those one or two point holders and for the ranged class that is incapable of going to res the downed bunker due to the fact they will melt as soon as they go near the downed ally.
But yeah other then that daily x class winner needs to be removed. That or maybe make it so that ranked games do not contribute to achieving this goal.
