@hackks.3687: wow. How incredibly difficult it must be. MAJORITY of people complain. Everybody sees a problem, definitely 99% of players who came from wow and are looking for sensible alternative to pandas. Thread is ‘getting this long’, but for you, the answer is still oh so simple.

Well, newsflash, it’s not. Let my type it for you and others who still, after so many posts off unrelated people, don’t get it:

WHY NOT FREE TOURNAMENTS:

1) i strongly dislike the idea that unknown, anonymous players from my team will watch and judge my performance in subsequent games of tournament. It is stressful, it is no fun for me, and it takes the joy away.

2) 5 people is not enough. WvW is far too many. I enjoy pvp with elements of tactical planning, with 16-40 players on the map, 1 or 2 of which are my friends.

3) I don’t want to play mainly to win. I turn on the game, I have 30 or 40 minutes of spare time, 2 or 3 friends who often come at the same time in the evening. I want to spend this time with them, then log out.

4) I don’t want to keep losing because there is a very high chance of getting a group that plays “professionally”, so to speak, in every tournament. Yes it is your agrument but I am making it mine as well, and I have more ground for it atm.

Now I hope i did not offend you hackks, or anyone, but this is not a minor problem. For me, this is THE most important flaw in the game so far. I can live without mounts. I am not level 80 so I don’t care yet for endgame content. But I can’t play this game if there is very little content for friends playing together. And this opinion is not only mine.

Also, don’t make it sound so hard to implement. It is no big deal. Solutions were suggested in this thread. They do not need miracle programming. If you want to make GW2 only for solo players and “dedicated-proffesional-24/7” type of players
, you are on a good track. There’s just the matter of possible millions who enjoy playing with friends, with emphasis on enjoy.

in regards to paid tourneys, i consider my self a very serious pvper, but i am not going to pay to pvp, not only is that ridiculous in my opinion but half the time i cant afford those little extras …its one of the reasons i am enjoying GW2 (it being subscription free)

the other side being i want to play with my friends in sPVP i want to help build strategies and practice so i dont look like a huge noob when i go into tourneys, and with streaming being very easy to do nowadays i would rather have my stuff together before i go against one of these streamers and have my unpreparedness broadcast for all to see.

there should definitely be a way for guilds to practice together outside of just jumping into tourneys.

if they had a practice tourney selection that was free and garnered no rewards in regards to rank, glory, or rating then i personally would be happy that way i could get my guildies to join and work on strategies without the experienced players crushing us. of course those would not be as challenging as “real tourneys” but it would give us the opportunity to practice our strats. so when we do venture into the tourneys we will at least have some level of preparedness.

You don’t have to pay real money. You use tourney Tokens you get from Free tourneys. Although you do have the option to spend real money to get Tourney Tokens if you so wish.

ok so i just wana join games with one other person not play my premade vs a pug i don’t need carried i just wanna play with my friend. Groups of 2 would be a good solution for me anyway

^ pretty much the reason why my two friends quit playing the game.

And if you want to play with a friend, just hit up some free tournaments, the game will find 3 more people for you.
