Why the sigil of energy nerf?

I agree i honestly don’t see why this whas needed really. Seems to be that it was completely not nessisariy at all. not only bunkers use sigils of energy. but glass canons as well. Man i sure hope they actually do a lot on thief. Aside from revealed and little defences u actually start affecting thier dodges as well? Man thief better get some actuall boost to endurance regenation.
I feel like we’re jumping from one extreme to the other. Sure the bunker meta was really lame and boring. Sure it needed to go. Is the other side of the coin that much better? I doubt it. If anything, more active defense needs to be added.

Incoming 1 second kills meta, this is beyond doomed.
I fully agree. For example thief is going to get a dmg boost but it’s sustain is going to drop because of this. and not just a little bit. Thief has no sustain as it is, and sigil’s of energy help me stay alive, without them I don’t know how I would defend myself against classes like rev who can dish out constant hard hits, I’ll dodge 3 hard hits and then he has an opening to kill me, giving me no chance to finish him or kill him in general unless I run specific utilities but that’s no fun if i’m forced to use utilities just because i’m screwed if i go with lets say fist flurry over a shadowstep skill.
In all honesty I hope Anet see’s this and decides against the change. or if they do change it, just switch it to a 30 endurance increase instead of the vigor change.
Sigil of Energy has needed a nerf since players mostly figured out the game. Extra dodge instantly on demand is way too powerful. It contributed to making bunkers overly powerful and spamming avoidance the norm rather than selective use of avoidance at the proper times showing skill.
The change may have been a little too strong (may need a few more seconds), but the concept is fine. By making it a vigor buff, it means builds which already have many sources of vigor not have ridiculous amounts of dodge. It also provides an alternative to going for your profession’s “dodge on crit” trait.

So thief should be able to cover all of its disadvantages? I have zero sympathy with the upcoming buff to the class. Remember the fire and air sigil nerf? It was after the trait revamp meta, that wasnt needed too. People need to realize when you cry nerfs Anet tends overdo certain nerfs and many times nerf other kitten that’s not needed. You reap what you sow.
The posted changes to take place on the 26th state that the sigil will change from giving the player 50% energy (one dodge roll) to 5 seconds of vigor (sigil loses its use for on demand dodge, plus many classes have plenty of vigor).
I dont understand why this sigil is being nerfed, and yes, it is definitely a nerf. There is nothing broken about it. Sure its strong; it allows glassy specs to stay alive a bit longer, but not by much if under heavy pressure. Nothing close to some of the OP passives. There is nothing passive about this sigil, you have to dodge to use it. That is active defense, which I thought should be encouraged. So why the nerf?

Did you ever seen a good thief this season ? They dodge with Initiative, they dodge with Dodge and when they go out of dodges they press Signet and they Dodge again.
So, if you face a thief without Invulnurability, Blocks or Massive Heal, u have no chance to beat them after the Dmg-Buff coming in Season 2.
I cant imagine any other Reasons for this, since Dodges got less usefull for any other characters ( DH-Traps, Chrono-wells/-interrupts, Provoke (especially Druid pet) ).
Instead of reducing the amount of dodges some classes can get (thief, revenant’s Riposting Shadows, high vigor uptime for tempest and scrapper), they hurt those who have the least active defense and need it the most (like necromancers) in order to reduce the dodge spam others can do.
I suspect it’s another lazy way to (badly) balance.
