Will the pvp forums ever be satisfied?
Most of them probably aren’t playing?
I didn’t play sPvP during the largest part of this season. I don’t like Chrono Bunker, and I didn’t like the bunker meta in general.
Was boring.
Know what I did? Played some of the PvE story kitten I skipped out on, and played a lot of WvW.

I haven’t played in weeks. Came back to test the changes; game is still bad.
This was my favorite game and I wish it still was.
The upside is, I have started playing different games and have been having a lot of fun. So thank you Anet for introducing me to BnS and HoTS. I saw Hugh playing Destroyer on BnS last night. Your own devs are even jumping ship for BnS haahhahaha
Is it really that hard to just enjoy the game m8s? If pvp is “so bad” why do you play gw2?
If you can specifically refute peoples assertions then do so rather than just making vague statements.
Miranda Zero – Ele / Twitch Zero – Mes / Chargrin Soulboom – Engi
Aliera Zero – Guardian / Reaver Zero – Necro
Not all players will be satisfied, but most people are satisfied; for example: active players not complaining on forums or writing support tickets.
As long someone plays the game, then he/she likes it, otherwise that someone would not play the game in the first place (except for testing purposes).

Im just saying everytime I come on pvp forums to look for like tips or maybe cool pvp vids? All I see is people complaing about a class.
Instead people should learn how to counter classes and to play smarter instead of coming on here saying “OH I DIED TO ELE NERF ELE PLZ” etc etc

Because you’re satisfied with this quatterly balance patch? They’ll do this four time a YEAR and we get what we had two times a month two years back.
What a dev team…
They don’t even seem to know what they are doing, toying with skills and gutting them or overpowering them.
The game is going downhill and Anet is actively playing its part.
I’ve played this game since release, I’ve NEVER spent so much (time and money) in a game and I loved it, but looking at it today.
It’s not even a shadow of what it was. Anet are killing their game.
I’ve never had so little fun. I could spent a whole day playing and it was amazing.
Now, thirty minutes and I’m sick of it.
I don’t mind jokes, but I don’t quite appreciate when I’m feeling like I’m made into one.
And Anet makes me feel like it’s just that, one big joke to them.
Well then maybe I’ll go somewhere I feel a bit more appreciated and respected as a customer.

And think what you like, but the actual active community is usually the one in forums, commenting on things.
When there’s this much feedback being QQ, then maybe it,s time to look at it and see that there may be a problem underneath it all…
Especially when Devs promised us transparency and communication and we have NOTHING of the likes.
I kept hopeful for a long time, but every single thing is just disappointing me further. Maybe some people likes the game like that, with it’s mindless CC and passive removing most if all gameplay and rewarding fights off the game, but it’s not for me. Not with the endless powercreep, not with Anet’s “idea” of balancing is periodically gutting class to trash-tier and upping others to god-tier without any form of happy middleground, not when they are hovering between meta extremes of bunker/burst/condi and mindless CC spam and boon generation.
That’s not the game that caught my eyes when I first played.

If ANet wants to quell their forums, there’s one way to do it.
Communication. Open and honest communication.
Unfortunately, our line with them is a bit… offline atm.

But the people who enjoy the game arent on the forums, since there is no reason too. Also, If you dont enjoy the game anymore maybe you should move to a different game? Ive been playing for about a year, pretty much only PVP and have been pleased with most of the patches. I dont think this game will ever be as competitive as league of legends or anything like that but it seems most the problems on the forum are L2P issues. Games change, every pvp game has changes and you need to adapt to them or you will be left behind.

You’ve been here since a year… you know barely nothing of what this game went through and how bad it is since… exactly a year.
Don’t tell me to adapt, I have.
COntinuously for three years, I’ve been here and adapted to every meta regardless of what went through
But this is a joke to everyone. A quaterly balance patch with no more than what we had bi-monthly before.
I’m already off the game, on B&S, which is quite enjoyable.
Anet,s balance is a joke to everyone. Gut classes and elevates other until they make a full circle, rinse and repeat.
This is not balance.
You’ll open your eyes one day.

Id rather not have a bunker meta that was not very fun. The finals were boring to watch because its just fighting on 1 point for 3 mins straight lol This game needs to be fast paced and more exciting to succeed in esports and all that.

Thank you, you have mirrored my own feelings here. I have been playing this game since it came out, have a seven different characters that I play, each of a different class and I play them all well. I have adapted, rotated characters, playstyles, and counters, shifted through metas, even abandoned game modes when I couldn’t take the bs the developers put us through at times and played pve and its “great” story. cough cough Did WvW too for a time, but the map changes and the way this game isn’t really designed for massive combat turned me off that mode quickly. Took a break for a while and played FFXIV and I really enjoyed the mechanics involved in their raids and boss fights. It’s also sad that that game has more PvP modes than GW2, considering you wait 45 min-1h to queue for pvp in XIV because no one really plays it, not because it’s bad, but because the community is so focused on the endless gear grind. How long was GW2 out before they introduced something other than point capture pvp? Stronghold was still in its infancy when it was released and then shot down by the community. Temple of Silent Storm is a different type of Conquest map, but it wasn’t fleshed out either. I’ve heard some good ideas for Capture the flag and deathmatch arenas as well, but PvP players in general seem so stuck on Conquest-Conquest-FailFire(Foefire)-Conquest-ForestofNiflhel(No-Fail)-Conquest and fear a change in sPvP where they are forced to think differently and use a strategy other than “capture two and hold”. Heart of Thorns seemed interesting because Guardians sounded like they were finally going to be able to dish out (some) damage, but now they’ve been nerfed into the ground again with the quarter update. Ele has been gutted and the biggest issues with Revs were completely ignored. I put my hopes on this patch turning things around (foolishly hoping for a change for the better) and even when I was reading the preview notes, felt a sinking disappointment as the power cycling continues. Anet does not seem to care about running the game into the ground or like they are even putting any thought into their updates. One of the things I liked about this game was the idea that there were no “class roles”: no tanks, no healers. Anet betrayed that when they made Taunts and Eles into healing machines. This update seemed like a quick fix to stop the five year olds from throwing their temper-tantrums instead of really looking at the issues the new class/elite specs created and using the time between this League and next to really work on them and bring back the idea of rock-paper-scissors match ups. (I still firmly believe that Diamond Skin was not the issue making Eles OP, the issue was in their INSANE amounts of healing combined with it.) At this point I’m just waiting for Dark Age of Camelot to come out because I’m tired of being made a fool of.
Will the pvp forums ever be satisfied?
Short answer: Nope
Long answer: No. Its actually not possible to do so. They can please some of the people, some of the time, but they will never be able to please all of the people all of the time. It’s just not how it works.
Is it really that hard to just enjoy the game m8s?
Nope. I grumble and groan, but I do try to roll with the punches. Granted, when a build I like gets destroyed in the name of anet’s “balance,” I huff, but it’s just an excuse to experiment again.
If pvp is “so bad” why do you play gw2?
I don’t think it’s awful, but I’m a casual player. Then again…I’ve seen what else is out there. shudder
Is it really that hard to just enjoy the game m8s? If pvp is “so bad” why do you play gw2?
For me its that this game meta was so close to perfection before the HOT. You had power warriors/ shoutbow, you had thieves and mesmers on teams. A small buff to some unusable skills to make them fun for solo ques and a nerf to d/d ele would of been perfect for this game.
The would of rather had HOT be more game maps, another game mode then the new specs. It really is starting at the bottom of the mountain again. Really OP spec lines, destroying old GW2 builds and making some classes unplayable. Before HOT EU teams had 1 mesmer, 1 thief, 1 guardian, 1 warrior and x class. On NA it was the double ele 1 thief x – x class. A nerf to ele and a slight buff to ranger would of made team comps unpredictable since every class brought something tot he table. Before this patch it was 2 mesmer 2 rev and x class for literally every team. A king of the hill or a stronghold capture of the flag style of game would of been alot better then stronghold and the new HOT spec lines.
Its not that this game is as bad as others its simply that its not as good as it used to be and we paid money for a expansion. The expansion didnt give us anything fun, we are simply grinding and waiting for the game to become fun again.

I did exactly the same. Read the leagues feedback and didn’t enter a single match and focused on other things.
Like I said, most people are satisfied, otherwise they would not play this game.
Think of it this way: only about 7% to 9% of players read the forums checking what is new or good to read, and from those only a small fraction is commenting or opening discussions. From this small fraction, only extremely few customers comment in PvP and profession balance (likely because they enjoy pvp).
So yeah, forums are already satisfied, because people complaining are very very few.
Is it really that hard to just enjoy the game m8s? If pvp is “so bad” why do you play gw2?
While it is the nature of this (or any) forum to just attract baseless whining, why should everyone just suck up and play or leave? They got their right as a customer to voice their opinion.
Most people, like me, got some brilliant memories in GW2 and enjoyed certain aspects of it a lot, and are saddened to see it being crumbled slowly but steadily.
The game, the balance regarding PvP, has changed significantly ever since I remember, allowing a lot of questionable balance changes into PvP for very long times with seemingly lazy fixes where it is due. Most people are rightfully upset by what has happened over the years.
Also; if you don’t like the complaints, why are you not just playing instead of reading the forums? See, it works both ways

Unfortunately, it is painfully obvious that A.net has been downsizing GW2 moderation since the release of HoT. I feel like the sale of this expansion was the end-game, and having been successful, A.net has moved on and provides the bare-minimum customer support.
However, the mechanics of PvP are still impressive, and I will continue to play until these forums are ignored.
So you’re going to quit now? These forums are ignored lol

Yes kitten the devs for playing other games and getting their fun times and inspiration. If only in their work contract it would prohibit them for doing such blasphemy!
I used to be a power ranger, now not sure anymore
