if someone always goes to close...
Noone looks into the reports so don’t bother.
Long White Hair – among others
So this means it is ok to def waypoint in this situation? Why these people want to report me when i do so?
But how to punish players who do it in every match? I had same ranger in my team, he stay on close no matters what, just like afk. Last match when enemies come to close he leave it and stay afk somewhere else, then return when point is empty.
Odds are he doesn’t understand the game and is just bad
I look his skins, he has 30k+ ap :/

the only time its over okay to do that is against theif and not really, you in a losing matchup. Should’ve had somebody hop mes or druid or something.
… and stay afk on it. Should i report him for:
1) Idle player
2) Match Manipulation
3) Botting
Any of them will work, but I’d suggest that “idle player” for an idle player is the best choice. It’s not like ANet will discard the wrong category entirely, but the odds that they look at it and discard a “botting” report because they don’t match some automated “are they botting” criteria like “uncommonly good accuracy or timing”, etc, are non-zero.

You … should probably not play GW2 any longer, if you actually believe this. If the company don’t care, like you say, then things are just about to go directly to un-fun-ville in a kitten-cart, fast.
Because people respond mostly to the expectation of being caught when it comes to deciding to cheat, or not to cheat, and if nobody acts on reports then it will become super-common, super-fast.
But how to punish players who do it in every match?
ANet will take away their account if they persist. Report them. You can’t punish them, and you can’t know what their punishment – if anything – was, or when it will be delivered, but you can report them, and trust that ANet will do something.
(If, in fact, they are doing something wrong. Your description certainly sounds clear, but without being there we can’t be certain. Other people likely make the same claims when a player is actually, y’know, trying to help or whatever. Just poorly.)

But why these people don’t go far? Don’t they realise while they stay close, team lose 4v5? Actually in 90% of games we win from start even 200 points, then enemy thief takes close point and someone decide to stay on it… so i can go afk because i know we will lose. I have these people 90% of matches. I don’t understand why. Is not it obvious? Or they can’t count to 5? Why people think others must carry them? Do they read “special” guide to pvp with advices like “stay close for win”?

Have you tried … saying something? cough and because some people are precious, something that isn’t insulting. cough
I’d guess that, in fact, what they have done is read absolutely no guides, just come in and tried to figure out how to win while playing PvP.
“I’m going to stand on this point-earning spot and prevent the enemy from taking it away from us” seems like a reasonable position to take, in fact, as does “I’ll die to prevent the enemy capturing this point-earning spot”, on the face of them.
So, yeah, if you think (or know) it’s the wrong strategy, say something nice, and tell them /why/ they should do something else. Then see if you still have the same problem.
I thought the only option for reporting would be idle player. Though just being bad at the game doesn’t mean a player should be punished. He is capping a point after all, maybe he just doesn’t know what he’s supposed to do.
I know some players report teammates playing badly for match manipulation. Is’t that only true if they ate intentionally letting the enemy win? Offered gold or something by an enemy player to throw the match. Or it can be used to report the enemy offering the gold. Trying and failing isn’t match manipulation. Of course, every time you report you see the warning no to abuse the report feature. No communication between the person you reported and the enemy that would imply they are being rewarded to play badly could backfire on the person reporting for match manipulation.
I’d rather have one player always staying on point and defending it, than four players fighting off point and even lose the fights.

That is a good point. I don’t like Conquest anyway but the Forest… Successfully holding 2-3 points, a forest creature appears, 4 payers go for it thinking it’s the end of the world if they don’t. During this time the enemy caps everything and if that wasn’t bad enuh some lucky git from the enemy team manages to get the final hit on the creature. Must be a sustainable enemy because the next minute or so you can see on the mini map all four team mates fighting in that valley between the keep and where the creature spawns.
I thought the forest creatures are something 1 player should go for at most but if you control most of the map might be best to just stay on the points and hold them rather than getting decapped for 25 points.
Instructions would be nice. I am new to pvp and I love it but a lot of the time I don’t know what to do. I LOVE the people who ping the area we should go…that helps a lot. I am going to look for instructional videos and other guides to help me get better. Be nice to people, they may be trying their best but just don’t know what to do.
Anybody seeing the forest creatures getting insta-killed in those matches? I know it takes about 1 second to spawn after timer runs down but then BOOM gone from mini map.
Ohh… there is no reason to stay afk on close, except your team can win 4v5 or enemy team has someone stupid enough to stay on their close while nobody attacks it.
The creatures on forest are a magnet for every pve player indeed.
