the one thing i cant stand is when i get low level players on my team in ranked spvp. generally i find more often then not they are not very good and tend to be a burden. yeah, yeah i know level means nothing however that not why. generally if some one is a low level in their class, unless they don’t have a similar class at 80, then they generally are not skilled at pvping in that class. i really wish Anet would consider this. many classes i have found have steep learning curves and can not be mastered to compete in ranked after just a few games.

i’m going to put this simply to all the spvp players out there who do this: RANKED IS NOT FOR LEVELING YOUR CHARACTER!

the level that you see in the corner up its the pve level not the pvp level you maybe level 2 pve and legendary champion in pvp, and u cant pve level ur character in pvp.

I completely disagree with you. There is always the option to make a pre-made team if you don’t like your selection of random pugs.

You sound like a whiney noob. And if they do have a lvl 80 how will you possibly know? You’ve judged them already

unfortunately for you guys i’m not the minority opinion. Some of us do not have the luxury of always having a Premade team Available aka flawed logic on your part. Yeah us whiny noobs get tired after a while of carrying these low levels /sigh.

The only thing that should be changed is to remove the PvE level of people from the party UI. It only leads to verbal abuse and hostility within a team and more often than not this is what’s loosing the game and not some guy who has 3k hours on ele and made another level 2 character just for PvP. Also, with Tomes of Knowledge you can get to level 80 without playing a class at all. So how do you know the “experienced” people in your party really know what they are doing?

you do make a good point there. however it’s a courtesy to the rest of the team to wait until you have played the class long enough before you go to ranked. some players are either arrogant enough or too stupid to understand that going to meta battle. com and finding the current meta and creating that for your pvp build of the class you use does not make you a pro player.

Nope. I have 2 level 80 guardians but in PvP I prefer Asuras over the human/charr guards. Lets face it, Asuras are OP. Also multiple guardians for different builds that I can swap easily.

I have 3 guardians. Two of them are level 2. I do this to switch builds faster. A lot of pvpers do this. Judging by your post, those “low levels” probably end up carrying you.

There’s not even 4k ap for PvP achievements alone….so what you’re saying is the person you’ve deemed unworthy likely only PvPs.

Also, they will never lock off PvP by level. It just wont happen as its entire design is such that anyone can join.

Ranked Solo Queue is all I do. Never have I had any issues with people who aren’t pve lvl 80. In fact, the only ones that complain about them are either noobie or terribad players.

The person you quoted didn’t say it was absurd to think someone’s good on all classes they said it was absurd to judge people, especially in pvp, based on achievement points and honestly it is, they mean virtually nothing. There’s plenty of ppl who don’t go around farming for points and have low points yet can still beat the heck out of people way higher than them. Heck aside from a few monthkittenus I’ve played this game since it first came out, came straight from GW1, and right now my highest map comp on a character is 18% and I don’t even have 5k AP lol yet that doesn’t stop me from going straight to pvp every day and killing people. Points don’t really matter lol, skill is what counts.

As for the level thing, gonna say that overall this doesn’t matter much either. Me personally when I make a new character I use tomes to level so until I get enough to level them to 80 they are going to be low. It does not make you a worse player lol. I have a necro and a Mesmer both level 11 but I also have a level 80 for both as well so being on my 11 guy doesn’t make me any worse of a player lol. I personally just like having alts because I’m to lazy to switch builds and I enjoy designing new looks lol. Point being if your going to judge someone, do it by their skill not by their points, levels, or whatever other stupid reason ppl might think of lol.

I have around 4k games exp, to 99% on thief. I was top 100 on NA leaderboards before they were turned into farmfest. I have team exp as well. I have multiple 80s. I have 13-14k ap? because i wanted to see everything what this game has to offer.

Now here is the joke: i live in EU so i moved my main accnt to EU for better ping but i missed my friends so i made second accnt on NA. The moment i made accnt, i made lv 1 thief and went into pvp, worst part i actually had to beg someone to give me few silver to buy weapons i needed cuz all my character had was 20 copper or so. Now here is the question: who do you think was carrying whom when i was doing ranked? Scrubs carried me or i carried scrubs?

Based on your suggestions i would have to grind for ages before i could even touch pvp. This goes completely against the main thing that makes this game’s pvp so appealing: you can jump into pvp at any time w/o any grind.

Oh and few facts from a person who played this game for years:
- pve levels has absolutely nothing to do with pvp experience; also people love to roll multiple lv 1 characters of the same class for the sake of looks/builds while they also have thousands of hours exp on that class
- due to lack of AP in pvp and also their rather grindy nature, they have absolutely nothing to do with players experience nor their skills
- pvp rank (rabbit, deer etc.) is also absolutely worthless for evaluation of player skill as it can be farmed by botting basically

Now i also have to consider that it is not allowed to troll on this forums which leaves me with one assumption: OP, you are very inexperienced in pvp and the the fact that you get teamed with “scrubs” just proves that matchmaking overall is working as intended and you deserve your teammates.

P.S. hunderts and hundrets of tomes of knowledge that i gained via ranked would disagree with you: doing ranked may be not fastest but possible way of getting character to 80 :P

Either that or he thinks that the PvE level you see by a persons name is actually PvP rank, and doesn’t understand that they are separate systems.
