reacting too fast?
also if you have 2+ people on you, you litterally have no reaction time. very important that this doesn’t happen in that small time frame
i’ve noticed something similar with downed skills, like switching target and using warrior 2 knockdown, half the time it throws at the first target.
If I understood right it´s the same issue I have sometimes.
But people explained to me, that it´s because the game is animation based.
For example: Your skills have a castbar that runs down. Exactly at the moment, when it´s run down you use another skill. The skill won´t work. Why? Because the skill´s animation is most likely not over yet. There´s practically a small delay of 0.25 – 0.5 seconds.
Another example: You see the animation of a player attacking you. All indicators say that he hasn´t hit you yet. So you try to protect yourself through aegies/roll/whatever. But the player´s skill still hits you. That´s because he was already mid-animation when you tried to defend yourself.
So when an animation is already running the game tries to push it through, no matter what.
I’m not so sure about this. I know from experience that everyone of the ranger GS skills can be cancelled mid animation. Really sucks.
Am I good?… I’m good.
clicking medipack for the engineer too fast makes it not appear but go on cooldown anyways <3
It happens to me all the time. I use a skill and then use a skill after it and it ends up canceling the first skill I used as if I had hit the escape button or something. And when you cancel a skill that didn’t activate there a short cool down timer. I think it’s 3 seconds but it might be 2 seconds. If you use a skill during another skill it cancels the first skill and starts the next one. You end up getting the full skill reset timer on a skill you canceled by accident.
In the original Guild Wars I could use another skill while my current skill was being used and my next skill would be in “warmup”. The only time my skills were canceled is when I specifically used my “cancel” hot key. In Guild Wars 2 you can’t even reassign the cancel hot key. It’s stuck as the Escape key and all of your skills cancel each other as you use them. It’s a really stupid setup that never should have made it past QA.

constantly have that happen with toolbelt skills on my engineer, try quickly clicking “big ole’ bomb” “grenade barrage” and rifle jump, 9/10 times the bomb will get cancelled.
only issue i have is with knockdowns and stunbreaker. I have to wait for the knockdown animation to end before i use my stunbreaker, otherwise it won´t work.

I dont understand why doesnt it work instantly, if you press it right after you are knocked down it goes on CD but doesnt help you.

Oh well. Get used to it, we’re not getting fix anytime soon.
because gratitude is a burden and revenge a pleasure.”
Let me start with an example: I think it was the Dec. update where warrior Axe 1, combo #3, was changed to not be overridden by manual pressing 1 again (which would stop the #3 combo and do combo #1 instead). However, it still can be overridden by other axe abilities.
So this example makes me think there’s a hidden priority system for abilities. Some abilities (especially defensive ones), can override and ability of less importance. Dodge seems to be highest importance, and takes priority over everything I’ve come across.
I think there’s sound reasoning here. There’s cases where you may want to stop what you’re doing and do something different. CC, dodges, and heals come to mind. Other times you want to complete whatever it is you’re casting. It seems like the game is making some best guesses on which to do based on the ability.
I’d suggest doing some manual testing on this. Try a couple of abilities, and see if other abilities consistently take precedence. Might learn some tricks to put you ahead of the curve.

To clear this up: While using a stun-breaker you need to be on ground to trigger it.
For e.g. if you get blowed-out because of ool-bomb or updraft and you press the stun-breaker while you are still in the air, the stun breaker won’t work. So you need to wait till you fall on the ground and then you can activate it.
