so i want to offer a reasonable moa nerf
Ok I’m not arguing for a nerf but I have to ask why people keep saying it’s a long cast? It’s 1 freaking second! Flamestrike fireball are all 1 sec and their autos with other skills being more. If you want to defend the skill that’s fine but please don’t say it has a long cast time when it doesnt

You can’t react to hitting your dodge key when a bluish animation starts within 1 second?

You do not see that in stealth. You can get chained CC too and if you do not have stun breakers you will get Moa’d.

My point wasn’t if it can be dodged or not. It was that people keep claiming it has a long cast time which it doesnt
1 second is an eternity in PvP. This is why the aftercasts on some skills are so strong a control.
If you cannot interrupt, block or dodge in a full second you really do deserve to get moa’d. In addition to that, it’s not a death sentence. It’s a hard hit, yes.. which is what elite skills are supposed to be.

1 sec elites just for ele fiery great sword, tornado,1 1/4 glyph of elementals…. one sec is an eternity in pvp for every other class as well not just mes. The difference is they can’t be used back to back as only mes has CS.

And those elites can’t be completely negated and put on full cooldown either.
You have a full sec to interrupt them. Those skills also doesn’t take the opponents skills away from them for 10 seconds

Again, those elites are not completely negated and go on full cooldown if they’re blinded, block, or dodge at the end of the cast.
They aren’t as game changing either. They can only be used once unlike moa
Continuum Split is also on a long cooldown. While you can fire an elite twice, it is almost never done. Normally a Mesmer will use CS and moa. They will then save back the second moa. Doing it that way makes the cooldown of moa close to that of other elites.
Sure I can fire an elite twice, but then I pay for it with a very long cooldown. Unless the situation is desperate, that’s a noob move. A skilled Mesmer won’t double fire in most situations. If they do, they are penalized with a very long cooldown.
-edit- If you can force a Mesmer to double moa you have won a significant advantage. Now two of her strongest cooldowns are kittened for a good long time.

As Ithilwen.1529 says u will not see any good mesmer use the moa twice before he again gets the F5 skill back. But yes the moa needs some kind of nerf. Something like the moa only can affects in a range of 360 or as musu.9205 says make the F5 no affect to the elite and reduce moa’s cd to 120 secs.
The moa is not something that u can spam, good mesmers they keep it to make focus in teamfight or to prevet from stomp or rez, or in a 1v2. Without moa the mes cant deal vs classes like the engi, necro or the druid. Also u can see the moa coming from km, easy dodgeble and if u are smart u can destroy his continuum shift to prevent the double moa.
They can make Time Warp or Gravity Well more interesting so ppl would choose something diferent than the moa to play. But mesmer does not deserve a huge nerf again. Only a small change that makes the double moa spamers think a little bit.
Thx, when i say this u have to know that im main mesmer too and sorry for my bad english^^.
