I’m in agreement that there’s something terribly fracked up with matchmaking. I lost all my pips in Ruby tonight. Same thing, a 10 game losing streak with maybe IDK 20 win rate total for the past 10 hours? It’s just horrible match making from the beginning of the night. Where I was stuck solo’ing against team after team, after team, after team, after team, and after another F’n TEAM!

This season’s population is going to implode in a week after most of us hit Ruby. No ones going to want to deal with this level of unhappiness and frustration in a video game. Nor is there any reason not to just AFK for the daily’s once we hit Ruby.

Pretty much my experience most of the time (the solo’ing team after team after team bit feeling). Playing pvp has become so frustrating that it bring the worst out of me too often now. I often have to take breaks because I start insulting ppl so much I cant take it anymore to see them sabotage games we could/should win. It’s at the point I wish I could use henchmen like in GW1.

agree – I have been stuck now for 2 weeks in same spot completely demoralised by the endless losing streaks tried all the suggestions taking long break joining teams trying to improve my pvp playing ability and I feel now the lowest I have ever felt in either my gw2 or gw1 time 10 years now. I wont give up because that’s just me but have reached the point of apathy and lack of caring – I fully understand why loads are quitting pvp with these losing streaks I know my MMR is screwed now and nothing can change it – an air of utter helplessness what ever I try now !!

My streak ended after 15 games or so. The past three were perfectly normal feeling games and ended up being 2 wins 1 loss. When I say the games felt normal is that the players I was matched with were communicative and competent. The Queue times were close to the averages posted. Not the abnormal and widely variable Insta Q’s to the 11+ minute one from last night. It appeared both teams were formed with Solo Q’ers. I also wasn’t endlessly Moa’d as I was getting last night. #shakesfist

Agreed. When you have that many really close matches, you can most likely simply analyze a couple of things in your own game-play and easily turn half of those close calls into victories.

You can not with a straight face call poor matchmaking when half the games in a 10 game losing streak are literally very close. Losing by <100pts means you could have won…nay, should have won.

Don’t blame anyone else but yourself. A <100pt loss means that in at least half of such games there are things you could have done better to win the game for your team. (aka. carry!)

And, what if he was carrying his team as far as he possibly could, to even pull that close?

I remember GW1 where, if you wanted to have matches that were remotely fun, you HAD to team up. The first thing that struck me when I installed GW2 is that that hassle was gone. I could press join and pvp, as simple as that, and it wasn’t even all that bad.

And yet, after roughly the same time from day one, GW1 pvp had yet a lot more players willing to play both main pvp modes (tomb and gvg).

It’s not the losing that gets me. Sure, a streak can get very annoying but it’s not the end of the world if you had a decent close match. They can also be good learning experiences.

What really has me at the brink of quitting the game is those 500- 100 matches that happen way too often. In fact, I just had 2 in a row. Losing is one thing, being farmed is quite another. L2p does not apply here, it’s just horrible matchmaking, no other explanation. There’s not excuse for these types of games happening at that frequency. It destroys any kind of motivation to play.

I dont understand the drastic change between season 1 and season 2 match making. Not giving anything to the losing team just makes it so painful to stick around in those 500 – 100 games. But oh well pvp is not for casuals I guess.

Thank goodness yea, teaming up for Tombs with pugs easily took 30 minutes, and after the first loss ppl would often instant-leave so you had to start all over again. I only played tombs with friends because else it was very time-inefficient.

In the course of my GW2 playing from release, I have right now only 563 matches played. I pretty much suck at everything in PvP with the possible exception of capping, still I also have 458 top stats. This probably tells you as much about me as about the people that also do PvP. I did not play a single game in season 1 because it basically bored me just to take part in a PvP league.

Some months fast forward, I am making my way through amber through the sheer lack of other, more suitable content and for the sake of earning some AP. And oh boy, I am killing people left and right with my subpar characters I only play once in a full moon or so and win so many more matches than one of my guildmates who does so much more PvP than me and is so much better in it than I am and is struggling to climb out of Sapphire. This leads me to the conclusion that I probably should apologize in advance to the poor people that will be saddled with dragging my sorry behind through emerald as long as the season is on.

So I feel really sorry for the true PvP guys and girls out there. Without a season, you would only have to endure us PvE/WvW zerg/defender players until we have our daily and leave PvP again, but so you will have to endure the wave of us until april(no sarcasm)^^

Don’t want to buy HOT which is no fun, but S2 forced you to buy.
This was Anet really want, i saw through the decision and uninstalled it today.
I don’t want to challenge any more.

Im having tons of fun on my non-hot second account, and usually end the game with quite a few top stats. I cant say I have a running winning streak all the time, but then I queue at times when theres only 10 people queueing in my piprange (if I am lucky, otherwise Ill have to wait 30+ minutes for a match).

About every 7-9 wins I get 1-2 losses.

I am in end of sapphire, dont really have the ambition to get to legendary on a measly second account, but well… if its ruby then fine. Might even go until diamond.

The new amulets btw, help a LOT. Try out those old OP builds, tweak them a bit and you are nearly as strong as with hot-specc. Of course you have to be good to make up for those missing few percent that non-hot builds are not as good as hot builds.

But it definitely is NOT unplayable.

To loosing streak:
If you experienced a loosing streak of some magnitude (Id guess something around 5+) then that means your mmr is totally kittened.
Which is the moment you should stop playing… and go find a team yourself.
If you dont want to do that, and want to keep anet doing that job for you, then you cant really complain about it.

I uninstalled it, because i’m casual.

I agree, my last match today that got me to T5 sapphire. It was on foefire. We where losing, the game was really close to being lost. But earlier in the match I had taken the gate next to red close. So after helping take out the ele in graveyard, I ran to the lord. Took him out and boom, we where leading 499 – 475, boom we won. Now I’m not saying that I won the game single handedly. But if I had not taken the lord we would have lost. That one move turned the game around. You have to be aware of what’s going on at all times. And know where your team is. By rights we should have lost, but we didn’t.

Need help ending losing streak and improving. This was my last match, was on the red team. Our personal scores were much better but we still lost by alot! With my score being 210

Really stuck and can’t win more than 2 matches in a row then hit another losing streak

I’ll never be out of emerald. Got within 1 pip of the next tier, now back to 0 pips and wasted everything!
