One thing that bothers me with this game is that the game is quite plain, it’s dead under all that lore.
From an RP perspective, this game is just way to lifeless to even begin to immerse our self in the game.
Now it’s difficult to add immersion in an MMO and it will never get to the level that skyrim can give, but it’s still possible to make the game more immersive and less dead in the water.

Dynamic weather
They said before the beta that dynamic weather is in the game, later on they said it’s only during dynamic events.
I find that unacceptable, i can understand that weather should change during a DE but if that’s the only way to get different weather then it just doesn’t justify.
The game should have a system that allows for random rainfall/snowfall and windy weather, making the game more alive and welcoming to play trough.
It literally is the difference between light and day, it will make the game more alive and it gives you a more immerse feeling.

Closer forests
This one might be quite misleading so let me explain, this is how the forests are in GW2:

This is how i expect a forest to be:

Now i am not asking for a closed up forest where you can’t see your own character trough all the bushes but at least have some more bushes then the few along a road, a forest is suppose to be full of life, not full of empty space.
This will make the forests a place that really feels off-road, a place where survival does matter.

I just find forests in GW2 so plain and empty, it’s like a garden neatly made to be accessible for everyone.

Busy street
When scrolling trough divinity’s reach it always felt quite off, such a big city yet the streets are more empty then we have it on a Sunday morning, completely lifeless.
So i would suggest to add a market and place plenty of NPC’s, it improves the immersion of a city so much it’s hard to describe.

I hope some of them get in the game, i don’t expect much but we’ll see.

None of these are bad suggestions. I don’t RP, but I would like to see all of them. We don’t ever seem to have actual forests, more like pretend forests because everything is cleared out and developed. It’s amazing that creatures like the Hylek would leave themselves out in the open so often.

Weather is boring in game :\ never any thunderstorms, very rarely any rain and barely ever any real darkness. “Coincidentally there are never any clouds when its dark outside, and definitely not any rain. Even in the undead shores of Orr you will never have trouble finding your feet in the dark or spotting undead creatures from a mile away.”

I wish they would just demolish LA, and find a unique/popular feature for all 5 capitals. I would love to have more reason to go to places like DR and BC.

and now for part 2 of my list:

Npc movements
One of the most immersive breaking things is when an NPC talks but never moves their lips, some random blabbering is only fixing it a little bit, actually moving correctly according to the dialog makes it allot better.
The tec is there, we use it every time a dialog starts, having this everywhere revives the game to a more “real” experience.

Bump mapping
Now before i begin to talk about bump mapping, i first need to explain it for ppl who don’t know what it is.
Basically, it’s a way to make 2D textures look 3D, so even while you think the brick in the wall is 3D it’s actually a 2D picture with a layer of bump mapping behind it.
If you want a more accurate explaination, see here:

So yeah, bump mapping.
I am personally surprised Anet didn’t ad it yet, it’s the next best thing to an actual 3D wall and it makes the game look so much better. (if done right ofcouse)
I agree that you should be able to disable it if desired but i can tell you this, the moment you have this effect on it’s really hard to go back.
It improves the immersion so much and makes the game look so much better, not to mention how much easier it is to immerse your self in the environment.

that’s it for now, i hope Anet sees this.
