Add LFG interface or chat channel please
well, I created the topic few days ago but it seems that it didn’t get much attention. Now with the big update coming up, can you please, ANet, include this feature along with the update please? I made some mistake choosing the server, now I stuck in a server with a complete opposite timezone, and “not so high” population, or at least that’s what I see, almost every maps I go are empty (or have some bots, or 1 or 2 unresponsive players). Maybe it’s not what it seems, maybe people are just all over the other places. But honestly, this trouble me a lot, especially on Orr, where I need at least 5 or more people for some events, and without doing those events, there’re just some exploration that cannot be done. And things even worst on dungeons. I really can’t switch to another server with same timezone now, because they’re all full. So this’s my best bet now. IMO, if guild wars 2 is a group-oriented game, then this feature is what the game should have anyway.
YES! Standing around in lions arch for ages is really fun…
don’t care if people don’t like the dungeon system in wow, at-least i’m not sat around bored
People have been posting for this since the game first came out. At the time Anet had said they had no plans to add in a LFG system. GW2 was released aug 28th thats getting close to 3 months with nothing. I quit this game until they added a LFG system in because not everyone can play at high pop times just to sit around trying to find a group.
If anyone has any info about them starting one at least please post the info so I can follow up on it. Or Anet, get with the program.. this games going to die if people cant do anything in it.
I approve of this thread but still think chat suppression is ridiculous in a game with no dungeon finder.

Well, I suggested a LFG channel just in case ANet can’t add a LFG interface, and that suppression is for those people who use the channel for other purposes. Those are just my suggestions for ANet though. And TBH, I’m fine with whaatever they’ll add, as long as I don’t have to sit in a specific map and spamming map channel for group.
Their only argument is join a guild. That would then force people to join large guilds just to get groups! What if people arnt on because its not “high population time”, or what if people just generally would rather do a closer small guild? Small guilds might not have people around your level on, or just enough in general… terrible idea to just leave it to guilds… some people dont like guilds at all.
+1 to this. It’s not like that I don’t like to be in a guild, I’ve had guilds for every characters of mine already (I only play 2 characters actually). But as you said, there’re just not enough people, part of it because my guild is not that big (just mid-size guild), another reason is as I said, I’m on different timezone with my guild :-s
This has been suggested a bajillion times and in many different way, but people can’t be bothered to search for anything on this forum. Surely AN will do something to add this feature.

So why is it exactly, that the developers do not have a standing thread on this topic. One explaining their side of the story and what they will or will not do about it? Is the point of this forum not to allow interaction between gamers and developers?.. yet… there is not one developer willing to comment on this??? If they are in fact working on an LFG system, or some other viable option; then, i don’t think it should be a big surprise. Thousands of “GW2 LFG?” threads online, but no actual answers. (other than 3rd party options of course). There are also btw, no “I love how there is no LFG system in GW2, what a great idea!” threads… at all…
I can tell you, i know of at least one entire, active WOW guild that left wow in order to try gw2 together… and went back thanks to there being no LFG or dungeon finder option. Why did they care?.. because they are not all online, at all times. So, being involved in a guild isn’t enough. Maybe the game community is better off without it. Maybe people are better off without the need to buy smartphones and enormous tv’s and e-readers; but, once the technology is out there, you cant stop it. You can’t rewind time and tell your customers they are better off without it.
I used to play wow, and I love Guild Wars. I would love to see it last long enough to develop the same type of following. Please, for the love of god, stop turning people away with such an easily fixed problem.
I’m not being funny but go and watch any recent interview, better still go and read the blog on the gw2.com website about the months ahead in 2013 and you will easily see they have confirmed that they are working on a LFG system and it is currently being developed.
