Armor Selection System
Keep all your gear in a bank tabs with nothing else.
Sort gear by stats.
Use the search option when looking for gear.
You’re welcome.
Also, no, part of replay value in MMOs are players trying getting new gear and trying builds. Give people something for nothing and they don’t know what to do with themselves.
The devs don’t care about WvW so I’m gonna kill players in PvE!
What if you don’t have room in your bank or if you want to change gear when you don’t have access to you bank?
And a lot of the replay value of a MMO is trying new builds and playing certain builds for specific situations.
This system would not detract from a players experience in any way, while at the same time adding convenience. This feature is not only valuable to new players (not being experts of collecting and organizing large sums of gear to switch between), but to collectors who want to collect all the games armor skins. It also gives a system to easily swap stats in either pvp or pve without having to go to vendors.
Think of the potential! You could possibly swap between collected runes. Have saved stat and trait pages (if they give us builds like GW1) to share with other players that could easily try out your build in pvp or pve.
Then you buy bank tabs and space in your personal inventory, have alts hold items so you can use the bank exclusively for gear. The market for the players that have max bank space and still have problems with space for gear is small. This is a problem with space (which is easily handled), not a problem with gear.

I understand how to “deal with” the problem of space. I just don’t understand why you think this system would be bad for the game?
No, I’m not saying “deal with it.” I am offering you options. As I said, your issue is that there is not enough space for gear, so you came up with an idea that all players could have all the gear in the game with no effort. This would adversely affect replay value, as a big standing ground of MMOs is to grind something for the gear you want, which increases play time.
I’m all for convenience, but I also like putting forth some amount of effort to get the main component of my character. GW2 is one of the few games that offers you a few different ways to get armor. Making a relatively simple and easy system, even easier because of bank space, is trivial.

There is effort involved they have to get that piece of gear to unlock the stats. How is that no effort involved.
The issue here was not only lack of space but collecting 10 sets of 13 pieces of gear is awful. No player wants to grind that much gear just to tryout different trait sets.
It would still require the same level of effort to get that first exotic piece of gear you have currently. And at the same time improve inventory space, add collections of skins for content (something to do), and make their gear system more inviting to new and veteran players of mmos.
As I said, the market for the players that have max bank space and still have problems with space for gear is small. There are a couple of ways to get gear, four of them don’t involve grinding: play WvW, play the trading post, sell (crafted) items, salvage items for profit.
Maybe I misunderstood what you said in the OP. Either way, I said my piece so I’m bowing out. Good luck to you and your endeavors.

This system would not only benefit people with space problems but anyone who wants to play the game without an unnecessary grind. It is awesome that you can get gear whichever way you choose to play. But, the problem is when after playing through everything this game has to offer you will maybe have 1 full set of exotic gear. Now say you bought all condition damage gear. But now you want to try being a tank and supporting your team or going full crit to see those big numbers. Enter the grind. Now you have to choose a grind to build those sets of gear just to TRY the trait lines in pve. I offer a simple solution to the current system which deters people away from the game who don’t want to grind 10 sets of gear but are willing to grind 1.
And it also does all the things I mention before. It’s a WIN WIN with no downside. Player who want to grind 50 sets of gear to get all the looks would not only have a way to store and manage it but a system to easily switch between looks!
Yes this system needs to be in the game, especially for Gem Shop items, we have paid money for it and we should not be punished by having reduced space.
Because now I am thinking like " Hmm that’s nice town clothing but I don’t have space for it " So I do not buy it.
Think about it Anet :P
