“Auto Pickup” should be added to options as a sub-option of Auto Loot. I pick up EVERYTHING. I never run out of space. All my bag slots are unlocked with a 20 slot bag in each. I’m so sick of having to Press F all the time to collect loot i walk over. Especially if some useless dead npc is next to it. I don’t want to stop fighting mobs to revive him. What i want is to get my loot in case i need to run or in case the game crashes because of all the server problems.

Autoloot: means when you Press “F” to Search, and you pick up everything. when on that corpse without a loot window appearing. If Autoloot is check, another option below it should be “Auto pickup”.

Auto pickup: Meaning that if you walk within normal range of a lootable mob corpse or bag of loot, you pickup all the contents without having to press a button. If you are one of those people who are worried about running out of inventory space because of this option, than don’t use it.

I’m tired of missing out on loot bags in WvW, or accidently picking up a random warrior banner thats next to my loot bag or lootable corpse, or starting to revive someone when i don’t want too, or getting stuck controlling siege, etc.

Auto Pickup is an on/off option that should have been in the game on Day 1, period

I disagree with loot “flying” into your inventory once something dies. you have to be in normal loot range for Auto Pickup to happen. I simply don’t want to hit F to get loot I’m standing directly over.

I would of thought everybody would like this idea. Its more reasonable that lott flying into your inventory like another person suggested. that’s just not the guild wars way.

I would actually like the “loot flies into my inv” more. Except if it wouldn’t interfere my combat. If i walk over a dead mob it flies into my inv. If it would be animated, for example me bending over to pick it up, it would hurt combat.
I want to be able to pick up loot even when i’m in combat and strafing over a dead mob whilst evading someone or something…. (which to me is about the same as flies into my inv).

Especially handy with events with lots of mobs.

So +1 for the improved autoloot. Plz Anet, help us lazy ppl

Search, talk, and revive should not all share the same single tab in the interface. Autoloot would reduce that problem but not solve it. It needs a tab for revive, a tab for talk, and a tab for search/activate.

They said they couldn’t do this because of technical limitations. That seems to be their answer to almost everything when it just boils down to “well, we don’t want to, so shut up now”. I guess they even came up with some kind of lame excuse like “but what happens when the inv is full”. Well, then just drop the bags to the feet like now…

This would be another step towards making botters life easier. At least thats how i see it and i think its the main reason ANet is not implementing this.

Giving you the option to bind another key only for loot purposes, that would be a great addition indeed.

It really doesn’t matter in PvE, I’m only interested in WvW. There already is a separate loot system in place, so it should be WvW exclusive.

I would settle for a simple loot only button. Can’t stand it when it starts picking NPCs to res instead of looting.

Also, in terms of resing, the game should ALWAYS prioritize player targets over NPCs. Dont know how many times there has been pile up of bodies and having to keep canceling to get the player, not the dead NPCs.

I like the idea of auto pickup, especially for WvW. As others have said, it would be nice for PvE, but MUCH more necessary for WvW. I’ve said before, that making it auto pickup in WvW would also reduce lag issues, as it would be less things to track for the server as well.

I take it you don’t WvW much? Having to loot bags doesn’t add anything to the game (in excitement level, fun, or otherwise), it only detracts from the experience and fun.

Even in PvE, it’s not like looting actually adds any skill or thrill to the game, but in WvW, it most certainly detracts from the battle.

And you’re right, it’s great that all we have to do is simply press F to loot without targeting the corpse…except when there are other things that get in the way (interacting with an NPC, environment interaction, and revive players/NPC’s to name a few).

In PvE, I would be more than happy to see it split out into other keys (a key for looting, another for actions, and another for reviving would most likely suffice). In WvW, it’s just silly having to loot bags, especially when you’re running back to a battle, and they are dropping all over as you run.

Yes for WvW, since the focus should be on combat, not paying attention to when a small bag pops up out of no where next to your feet.

No for PvE, since it’s really not that hard to loot a corpse after the fighting.

I think it would be a great idea. I mean, you can auto-pickup things like health packets from an Engineer’s Med Kit and the baubles in SAB. So obviously the “technical limitation” has been resolved.

Come to think of it, many action-oriented games like your typical 1st/3rd-person shooter auto-pickups many trivial items. Seeing that GW2 is an action-oriented MMO with simultaneous directional movement while attacking and tactical dodging, it should also adopt the looting philosophies found in more conventional action games.

If anything, the only kind of “looting” that should require the use of the F key would be for environmental objects, like conjured weapons and warrior banners.

Or make it vastly more efficient. One press loots everything in the entire map (WvW???) or minis who go hunt your loot and bring them back Overlord-style.

If I can’t play Guild Wars 2 at work, I won’t work in Guild Wars 2 either.
