Belcher's Bluff - ridiculous
What bugs me the most is how the NPC opponents are not only allowed, but designed to cheat. The rules given to us clearly state that each participant is only allowed to use their signature move once per game.
You should still be able to use rejuvination boosters.
Also the only one I actually had any problems against was the norn one the rest I killed.. Ooops I mean drank under the table.
It took me about 2 hours to beat all the guys without the use of any boosters or foods… It isn’t random, there’s an order to all of them. You also have access to signature moves. Use yours wisely. There’s 2 or 3 that are better than them all and each one is amazing against another (except the unblockable fake). I really don’t know what you’re complaining about.

You could look up a guide. But yea. Asura and Sylvari are the easiest. Bring the Sylvari’s signature move to the Human fight. Once you beat her: bring her signature to the Charr and bring the Sylvari’s signature also to the Norn. Just look it up on the interwebs, it aint that hard.
Not worth the time anymore – not saying it should be WOW easy but to spend 5 hours on a drinking game….the whole concept of this being fun just died and turned into a grind again. Special events should be hard for gathering kites and such but who has time to spend 12 hours on a drinking game and then try to do the others in the limited time.
The Human fight is surely bugged. I followed a guide, beat the Asura / Sylvari first, then moved on to the Human. I followed the guide which said to spam bluff while you can’t heal etc, but as someone says above she can SPAM her special skill so you eventually die from having your bluffs punished. When I can only use mine once per match, I don’t think it’s fair that NPC’s can spam their skill?
But really this comes down to time and enjoyment. If I spent 3 hours trying, even after following a guide as carefully as I could, and still can’t do it….what on earth must other people be thinking?!
I’m not a terrible player either, so if it’s frustrating the likes of me – and I’m a very patient gamer, there must be countless others this has genuinely annoyed. My other half is one of them, he can’t do the Human/Char/Norn either and he’s a seasoned gamer….so really this needs to be fixed.
Would advise that Arenanet address this issue pronto.
It’s frustrating. You get about 1 turn in between her ability to use a bluff, make sure you got the Sylvari’s ability. You will be fighting her very aggresively, at low health for the majority of the fight. It was hard for me too, a lot of close calls.
i totally agree, they cheat and use their move too much while you can do it only once, and while you could cheat too in a different way before, now you can’t anymore!
so: or we all cheat or we don’t… not fair to be the one that cannot cheat and the npc can just because he is npc…

Hello,
I would like to suggest to developers that, in future, they do not include achievements that are near to impossible to achieve. I find it completely unfair that those who completed the Belcher’s Bluff achievement line early (with the use of Peach Pie, which has since been removed) have the benefit of the achievement without the countless hours of grind against RNG that the rest of us now have to endure.
This is utterly bad form and I think the rest of us should be compensated somehow, as the reward is simply not relative to the effort. After 3 hours of trying today I’ve only managed to best the Asura and Sylvari. Surely this isn’t how the developers wanted this game to be? I’ve returned after 5 months of not playing GW2, and I want to be positive about the game again but this is….just not worth it.
Cheers
Bunny
Um… it’s still strategy. And you were compensated, they nerfed adnul. Some of us beat him without food BEFORE he got nerfed. The game isn’t supposed to be so easy that a monkey could do it. It’s a game that requires you to pay attention to what moves they are using and constantly calculate and evaluate what their next move might be.

I don’t think they should be able to spam the signature move.
Human chick refreshed her signature move before the stack from the last signature move was gone.
Same happened with the norn.
Oh god, Adnul that was a painful experience. Joke was on me when they patched him next day. Maddie, she woohoo’s a little too much for my liking and Poyaqui mimick everything you do. Those three are the only ones that are really hard. The rest are just a matter of careful management and patience. I actually beat all of them without the use of any foods or boosters, I had assumed they didn’t work. Teaches me not to make assumptions.

watch the Adnul Irongut – Hoelbrak – video. It took me 2 tries to beat him, after I learn about the mimid 1st part.

One tip is to bluff less than 2s before you need to drink. He kept catching me bluff without using his special skill or belch cause I was bluffing way too early.
My suggestion concerning Belcher’s Bluff is to add a betting system to the player versus player portion.
I rather enjoyed the frustration of trying to beat the npc’s before needing to turn to a guide and hope that future mini games (betting system!) are the same degree of difficulty.
