Daily AP Cap
So if a player does the work to get an achievement, they shouldn’t get rewarded for it because it might mean some newcomer or person who doesn’t put in the work might never catch up?
While I’m someone who is really behind in AP, I’m going to have to vote no for this. It punishes the players who decide to do everything every day but rewards the players that do not do so every day.
while i understand your idea i dont think that is the proper fix. The fix that is needed is a better revamped way to do pve leaderboard, because that is what this is about. To start i am on the leaderboard, but this is not why i complete most dailies. I complete them because i want to get the achievement chests as fast as possible. By limiting what i can get i will get them slower. As said before the only argument to limit has to do with leaderboards. I am not sure what kind of metrics could be used for the leaderboards but i dont think AP is a good metric at all for pve leaderboards as this tells you nothing about how good a player is but rather how much time they have to play. In fact i am willing to bet the top 5 best pve players in the game are not the top 5 people on the leaderboard.
That’s a surprisingly well-thought-out plan, Turak. It adjusts the rate of AP grind for those in the lead, making optimal play easier on them, without any of the gap-widening effect I described over in this post.
It’s not a solution that’s going to please everyone (“If I’m over the cap and want to grind 20 dailies to overtake the 10-daily bum in front of me, WHY SHOULDN’T I BE ABLE TO?”) but it’s a pretty darn good one.
I really wish we had a daily AP cap of 5 AP per day (And this is coming from a 12,5k AP user). With the adition of new pvp daily stuff we’re all gonna be able to get that 5 AP from daily
Seems like this is mostly geared to lighten the competion on AP top rankers, who are exhausting each other trying to out do each other. Not a bad suggestion. My only grievance is those days you notice you notice you’re just a few AP from your next chest. But then, that situation may not apply to me in the first place, as I’m pretty lax on achievements.

The problem is that newbies will never catch the top due to Living Story achievements that are no longer accessible.
I want an AP cap, but for an entirely different reason, that of saving our sanity. I’m a completionist, and the 2-4 hour daily grind is burning me out and not allowing me to enjoy the game how I want to enjoy it.
Capping daily AP means that everyone still advances at the same rate, and even places more emphasis on the actual permanent and Living Story achievements as dailies will no longer account for 50% of most leader board AP numbers.
how do some people getting more AP than you even affect you personally negatively ?
there is no achievement leaderboards nor contest nor tournament nothing other than the achievement chests and some titles wich Anyone will g et over time
heres an easy way for y ou to get ap if you really are so lazy you cant bother doing more than 5 AP a day buy tons of salvage and salvage them every who knows how many gives you 2 ap
try that instead of punishing everyone
if anything this posts shouts greedyness and selfishness cuz all i can assume is you do not want others getting rewards before you .
I am just going to assume the reason for this cap is to limit how much the hardcore AP grinders have to do to keep pace with everyone. This does nothing to improve the quality of the game.
There should not be an easy cap or ceiling because of three reasons.
1.) Newcomers that want to catch up will have less room to do so since everyone receives a flat rate for daily chest and nothing beyond that.
2.) People that are at the top that play in a “Hardcore” nature will have their competitive edge reduced.
3.) It would slow people down on their means to obtain AP chests.
I do not find people feeling like doing every daily possible is a grind is a rational reason to necessitate a cap on what you can get so they don’t feel compelled to do it. It only servers to slow people that actually want to compete on the basis of AP down and nothing else.
AP leader-boards are a measure of time and dedication to the game. The idea of a cap or flat rate daily offers nothing in the term of balance and fairness to players wishing to compete on this basis and earn chests. Sorry people that agree with the idea of a cap will just have to get over missing a few points or continue doing them.
