Guild Wars 2

Is it possible to bring in some open-pvp action in the future? Guild Wars 2 is a very good game, but this is the thing I miss the most. And I think I’m not alone.

GvG option, which is posted below by Tom seems to be insanely good for attractiveness of GW. Some of areas (eg. races’ homelands) could still stay neutral, other could be open for Guilds pvp.

Guilds could specify their relationships – some would be in alliance, some in combat. I can imagine it working very well with system like:

Green-coloured nicknames for alliance guilds members, which you musn’t attack
Yellow-coloured nicknames for neutral guilds members, which you can attack but without any exp or reward (or even with penalty)
Red-coloured nicknames for contested guilds members, which you can attack, with some kind of reward for killing.

If you don’t like open-pvp, just specify that your Guild is PvE and you don’t want to fight open-world (blue coloured nicknames or something), so that none can touch you.

This is a huge room to maneuver. And finally “Guild Wars” name would mean something!

Factions, not fractions.

Just give us GvG PvP with alliance options and there’s your factions, better than what the devs could ever conjure.

And this is the answer I expected! I never though about this, but I have to say that this is a great idea.

Open-world Guild vs Guild PVP with alliance options sounds even better than factions. This could even bring some natural political flavour, where Heads of Guilds could meet and discuss.

Dev Team, don’t you think that this innovation would give you much more players, and will keep those who are leaving? Im sure of that.

For some reason I cannot link a thread I made about this feature, a few months back. I suggested combining it with Guild Halls that the guilds can rent/purchase in the open world.

But it looks like if we will get any Guild love, it will be in 2014 the earliest.
