Inspect
Discussed too many times already and my opinion of it has not changed.
NO.
Your opinion is not the measure of things and you might look into the principle of OPTIONAL.
I’d like to see what people are wearing, I might want to look for it myself.
there is no reason for inspecting in gw2 and with inspecting there will also be coming requirements, then you get like you cant join because you dont have that piece of gear. I rather not a a climate like that.

Neither’s yours. My opinion is that I’m sick to death of seeing the same threads over and over again started by people who can’t be bothered to use the search function.

Here’s a thought: Why not ask them? You don’t need an /inspect option for that.
I would like that you would add a way to inspect other characters gear and traits. In whatever MMO I’m playing I like too look at other peoples gear, to see good it is.
I agree, its strange that this isn’t in the game already. If the problem is that someone don’t want to show their gear cause of private issues, I find that very strange..
I prefer to keep my gear stats private. I seem to have a different play style than many people and, while it works well for me, others don’t seem to understand (without a ton of explanation) how it works. People assume that if I’m not playing something standard, then I don’t know what I’m doing. I’d rather avoid all that and keep my skills and gear stats private.
I wouldn’t mind finding out skin names, though!

This. If it was just skins, I’d be okay with that, I think.
This feature should be implemented, opinions of “no” dont matter if you have the option to allow inspection or not.
Warhammer online had the perfect system, one could choose to stay anonymous or allow others to inspect them by the check of a box, but they were not aloud to ever look at their stats, it was quite simple and perfect.
Allowing inspection only brings players closer together which quite frankly, is lacking somewhat atm.

Elitists and Hardcore players would force you to turn it on if you pug. If you refuse they’ll kick you if you’re not spec’d the way they want. Regardless of how often it would happen, it would happen; and its not fair to those people. Not everyone is such a nice soul. Is it so hard to type “What armor is that?” into the chatbox? Its 4 words and a question mark. Not that hard.
We are sworn together by our blood…

When you run into these people, they will force you to link your armor regardless of having an inspection system or not. In the hundreds of dungeon runs I have done, I have never been forced once to link my armor.

This is a very good suggestion. I for one would think the option of inspecting a plus, given the numerous amounts of skins people use on gear/weapons and whatnot. Being able to see what they are wearing and what type of runes they use instead of pestering each person who has a cool skin would be nice.
~aX gives this thread a +1

This kinda thing… I think the ability to see “skins” would be fine. I support that idea.

Thats all good, but then people with that kind of gear would need to chill out infront of the dungeon, since they wont be accepted xD(simply for the reason cuz some people with xxxx number of skins dont wanna link their gear xD)
I’m 100% against an inspect option. Because every single group would start making demands on your gear.
“Hey, why do you have so high toughness? You’re a necromancer! You should be doing condition damage!”
And before you know it, other players are deciding how you play the game.

I’m pretty certain this is the sorta thing that’s directly against the GW2 vision, so I doubt you’ll see it – and Thank Lyssa for that! Horrid, horrid, tool made for the purpose of weeding out the “uncool kids”.
I’m sorry I stepped outta yer box, don’ worry, if
ya whine enough they’ll put me right back.
Normally I would be all for this but I’m afraid I will have to disagree. People are going to use this to see if other players got “the right” gear to join their party for dungeons.
Oh you’re not wearing berserker gear? You can’t join lol
Even if you have the ability to disallow inspect, people will just require you to allow it.
It’s a great feature, but one that will just be abused in the long run.
