Forward: if you read this, post SOMETHING acknowledging that you’ve read it. Even if it’s just a simple “agreed” or “disagreed.” Thank you.

When I first walked into Orr, I was stunned by its intricacy and potential beauty… except it was all destroyed. I came to think to myself about how amazing it could have been to play in Orr during its prime. When playing the final Dungeon, a cutscene played with a concept of Orr in its prime (attached below) and I was completely awestruck and saddened at the same time about how GW2 players will NEVER be able to see a vibrant, thriving Orr.

Now I know that this will never happen as it breaks the spirit of aloha with the whole -No Endgame- vibe we have going on here (or, for the fanboys, the “the whole game is endgame” vibe), but I feel like, sometime in the future of the game, a living story progression begins in a new area on the map in the Orr section that has yet to be filled out. This area (for continuity sake) could only be available to those who have finished the storyline, to build on the whole “cleansing of Orr’s soul.” To heighten the experience, more than one zone could be created to model the progression of this, so that post-living story update, a player that happens upon this isn’t hit with an Prerebuild-Postrebuild line in the sand.

What do you all think? Would this be something you would like to see in the life of GW2?

I would love it. There are so many things in game that the Living Story should rebuild! Not only Orr, but also Ascalon.
I must say that after completing Trahearne’s Wyld Hunt, I thought I would see some changes to Orr. I mean, I thought that the land would show some signs of healing for me (and for the other players that completed the quest).
Also, there must be a way to rebuild Ascalon. The situation of the ascalonians is horrible right now. They have no voice in the ministry, their settlements are constantly attacked by centaurs and the Flame Legion and the dragon’s corruption are knocking on Ebonhawke’s door.
I would love to see the Owl Lodge being rebuilt, too. The Owl might be dead, but her teachings still live on. Also, it would be good for closure, since the norns still mourn Owl’s death.
That would make me so happy!

I think it would be difficult to have a living story that changes Orr so much that it is brought back to it’s pre-Zhaitan state. However, I wouldn’t mind a fractal involving Orr before it is sunk.

Tyr Sylvison – Warrior
Illyiah – Revenant

there’s another thread, i can’t remember but the gist of it, which was essentially — give us dynamic events that allow us to cleanse orr. even if it maintains the ruins, give us the ability to make it “pretty” and potentially hold it that way. i love the idea that is orr-that-was, and i hope someday there’ll be a fractal that lets us explore it — but for now? i absolutely despise time spent there, as it’s depressing and annoying, to say the least. so … hearty agreement, with a plug for someone else’s idea that i thought was also quite brilliant.
