Remove WvW kills from Monthly Achievements
I would completely disagree were it not for the long queues. Nonetheless, you too are cutting WvW enthusiasts of a large cut of their progress on the achievement. This is a global achievement, not PvE only. In my opinion the best solution would be to work on the queues, not the achievement.
That’s why he’s suggesting that it be changed to X total kills of invaders or Champions, so you could (slowly) work at it in PvE too.

Because it is not supposed to be a PvE-only achievement. You should be able to manage all parts of the game in order to earn more global achievements such as monthly completion and world completion.
Yes, but I’ve heard people who are enthusiasts of WvW complain about people spending too much time in the starter zones or buying gear in the WvW maps costing their team the possible win as the rest of the team can’t compensate for their lack of activity. They are suggesting that such players be kicked from the map after x mins of not fighting.
To require WvW kills for the monthly achievements & clearing all 4 WvW maps to get 100% map completion & the gifts of exploration needed to craft legendary weapons, you are forcing PvErs & RPers to attempt WvW but not really contribute much to the map & be a hindrance to your team.
I understand that in GW1 you had to map Jade Quarry & Fort Aspenwood to get 100% map completion, but it was much simpler to map those areas & still fight (especially since the number of people allowed in at one time was much more limited than it is in WvW).
I for one (PvEr here) would be happy if the WvW maps were removed from the 100% map completion requirement & if this monthly achievement was edited as suggested above.

The achievement is for killing people, not standing in the initial area doing nothing. :P There is no prejudice against new players or anyone else so long as they try to be productive.

Not really, no one is being forced to be a hindrance. The idea is to take people out of their comfort zone and have them try something new. And in the end they can *GASP*like it.

Fighting and killing in WvW is ridiculously easy. Find a group and join them. You’ll have kills in a few minutes. It’s no rocket science.
I tried to do WvW once so far. The server match-up was not the best (we were getting our butts kicked by a very strong PvP home server with large PvP guilds on it). I played for maybe 10-20 minutes, died two or three times & killed 2 people. Not exactly my idea of a fun. Who wants to play WvW when there’s not a snowball’s chance of winning? Even a fellow guild member who plays WvW pretty heavily wasn’t playing much if any WvW during this particular server match-up. Once the weeks long match-ups start, I’m sure this will be even more of a problem.

Your argument is flawed. If you were required to manage all parts of the game for a monthly achievement then you would also have to craft things or succeed in sPvP. Also, it is possible currently to complete all of the monthly achievements in WvW so why not make it possible to complete them all in PvE as well?

Crafting IS implicitly a part of the achievement because you need to salvage a LOT to earn it. And sPvP is not there simply because we’d have even more threads complaining. I don’t even know why I have to back this up, the mere fact that WvW was added to this achievement is a huge indicator of this. Just like you have to get into PvP if you want to max HoM in GW, you need to do it here for such big and global achievements.
I guess the question is do you WvW PVPers mind getting the long ques because me as a Pure PVEer am cloging it up trying to go in JUST to get some WvW kills nd not even worrying about PvP at all? IMHO If you make it achieveable in both locations then you make it so neither is “left out” and the WvW ques would drop significantly.
I have 50/50 on my HoM in GW & I am a God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals and you did not have to get into PvP to do this. I did do some z-elite trapping (which is PvP) for the z-keys but you could also buy them from players.
Also, you could turn in the zaishen coins you got from doing the zaishen missions, the zaishen bounties, the zaishen vanquishes (most of which are not PvP related) for the z-keys too. It takes longer, but it can be done. So I have to respectfully disagree with the above statement that you needed to get into PvP when there were PvE ways around getting the 3 points for the so-called PvP title.
So if you’re comparing to GW1, there was an albeit slower way, but a possible way to get the achievement solely through PvE and that is all we are asking for here.

In any world. The monthly achievements require that you salvage stuff (which has NOTHING to do with crafting), participate in events, earn experience and kill WvW invaders. WvW is in fact the only place that you can achieve ALL of those things.
In GW, there was no requirement to engage in PvP at all. You could earn faction through vanquishing and exchange it for keys. You could earn zaishen coins through PvE and exchange them for keys. You could simply buy keys. 200 keys = maxed out PvP requirement for full HoM. Once again, your argument as to the requirement for PvP is flawed.
The monthly achievements effectively force people to engage in something which they otherwise would avoid. Do they consider it to be fun? No – not really.. they think it is a grind. Why not allow them to completely their monthly reward elsewhere so that those who actually WANT to enjoy WvW can do so without others needlessly clogging the queues.
Yes please remove this! I am big on achievements but I’m not a big pvper.. so this really sucks for me. it’s also a lot harder to get kills or even find anyone in WvW during some of the times I play.. at the very least please include structured pvp in the achievement. thanks! I don’t mind having to do pvp, but I do not like having to wvw when i much rather do spvp.

You need to do wvw anyway for legandary weapons (gift of battle – 500 badges is needed for every legandary)

Except that you can do all the other stuff while still in WvW.
I agree with OP, the WvW requirement should be removed, because some of us will never be able to complete it, because we don’t PvP.
