Well, in this last patch you fixed the skin of corrupted shortbow, that it was the same that the longbow, but now is an icy toy stick, that makes ridiculous. Well all shortbows are toys, and one i find that looks cool is changed now. Weeks in frostgorge, and 18 corrupted lodestones, 12 to finish to craft an icy boomerang. I know that’s the correct skin, but that makes me cry, it’s just…. i’m very disappointed… t-t

I am really disappointed with the changes made to the shortbow. I worked really hard to make my shortbow and now it just looks like a joke. I would really like a refund on my shortbow or atleast have the option of exchanging it for the longbow. Its not fair that a person works hard to attain one thing then it gets changed to something like looks like a stick with a tiny popsickle sticking out of it.

Agreed. I spent over 60 gold on the shortbow because I liked the skin and now they change it to a stick. Extremely upset and putting a ticket in.

I completely agree, I just crafted this bow today without checking threads assuming that the skin didn’t get randomly changed in the patch today. Needless to say, I am EXTREMELY disappointed with what I saw when I put the bow on. I am also extremely furious about this change of skin because the new skin is absolutely AWFUL.

Please guys, make the new skin cooler or revert the changes, this isn’t fair to the players who paid tons of gold or farmed our butts off for the mats to create this once beautiful bow.

Anet why do you hate Shotbows so much??? Every single of them (except) Aether looks small and not appealing. I know its “short” bow but we have girls which looks like models wielding giant greatswords, humans with giant charzookas so why we have to make shortbow in realistic scale?
New model is smaller, less effects, less ice i mean its wrong in every single way it doesnt look like bow for that price, it looks very weak. Give me back my gold or skin and i dont care if this ugly model stays in game but iam sure i wont gonna use it…

I agree, it’s horrible, looks like a wooden bow blue.
We paid 40-60 gold for the old skin, not for this crap, sounds like a joke … looks like a bug!
You can not make us lose time and then upset the aesthetics as well!

No one would have spent all that time and that money for a skin like this!
Give us back the old skin and make it smaller!
If before there was not a different skin for the short/long is not our problem, the players do not pay for your mistakes or crazy updates!
Find me a person who likes the skin…..

I do. The “new” skin (which is not new at all anyway, it was displayed correctly in the hotm) is much more realistic for a shortbow. I really like the longbow version as well (in fact i have it), but it was disproportionate for a shortbow. Now i know there are female models with giant swords and humans with charrzookas, and in fact they are horrendous. That said i would have liked a bit more ice on the shortbow skin.

Ive heard anet was accualy fine with same model on SB and LB (many bows have same models not just corrputed, yet only corrupted gotten new model). Rangers cryed they have 2 same weapons so Anet decided to change it. Ive started farming Aether yesterday because i lost my hopes on corrupted revert, but if they change aether model too iam quitting gw2…

Good to heard that Linsey. But pls don’t make the corr shortbow a smaller version of the longbow, keep the 2 skins somehow different, equally elaborated, shiny etc, but different.

Maybe create a Mystic Forge recipe that lets you turn your Dreamer into a “Vintage Dreamer” with the old animations? I don’t have a legendary of my own (yet!) but I definitely have sympathy for anyone who made a legendary before the patch and prefers the old animations.

You are absolutely correct to be bummed out, the Longbow has a lot of majesty that the Shortbow does not. So we are going to adjust the Shortbow model to look a lot more like the Longbow. Very very sorry about this! It was certainly not my intention to nerf your awesome bows. We are working on this fix as I type. It might be too late to get it into our next bug fixing build (today or tomorrow) but it will definitely get into our February build at the latest. Again, so very sorry!

Just wanted to say thanks firstly for posting in a timely fashion, and secondly for listening to us players and fixing up the new skin. I hope we can see this change as soon as possible so I can use my shortbow happily again!

The bows both have glows at their tips. Is the problem that you are having a hard time seeing them?

Yes, I’m aware of the glow on the tips. But it’s very underwhelming and barely noticeable (more so after the new short bow model) compared to other corrupted weapons.

I remember getting my shortbow a long time ago, after seeing players with similar corrupted weapons and it having a full item glow. At that time, there were no screenshots of it anywhere to be found. But after all the corrupted weapons I saw, they all had very nice full covering glows, so that’s when I went for it.

Just to my surprise, find out that it only had a tiny glow on its tips and being severely disappointed as it cost a fine penny to get back then as well. But, I learned to live with it as I liked how the bow was big and it fit my personality of my character.

Now that the bow is tiny and has a tiny glow that is barely noticeable, I haven’t equipped it at all as it hurts my heart to see of what this magnificent bow had left (its size) just was taken away from it.

Now that the bow is a smaller model, a full item glow would be very justified and a feature it should’ve been there from the beginning.
At the moment it’s just sitting in my inventory, but eventually it will just gather dust in my bank as I don’t feel like equipping it at all in its current state. Eventually I might even (emotional heartbreaking moment) salvage it.

OMG anet you are sooo good i cant even believe iam used from D3 to get scrwed over and over and you seem like you really care and thats more then enough for me to keep playing your awesome game…

I do agree that the corrupted shortbow could use a bit more of a glow like the other weapons. Compare the bow to the greatsword and even though they are worth just about the same amount of gold, the shortbow is certainly lacking a bit. Also, after having the shortbow’s size altered, the top part of the bow with the little bit of glow is hidden in my character’s hair and I can’t really see it which sucks just a little bit.
