Skills bound to weapons is one of the best ideas I have seen in a game, HOWEVER, Guild Wars 2 has not implemented it to the full potential. Players like options!!! Weapons should have had some options to change around a few skills… Pick 5 skills out of 6 for example. Then have PVE drops that add skills…
Staff of the Necromancer (Necro Class Only)
Now you can pick 5 skills out of 8.
Elite Staff of the Necromancer (Necro Class Only)
Now you can pick 5 skills out of 8 (slightly more powerful then the 2 skills from above).
Staff of Summoning (Necro Class Only)
Now you can pick 5 skills out of 7 (This staff adds a skill that summons a Lich)
I need options… I just don’t like some skills but really like others on the same weapon. I really like chasing after an Item. If one event dropped the Staff of Summoning… and I want to summon a Lich… I would enjoy doing that event 10x more knowing my work is going to pay off for a specific item /w a skill that I want. 100% / 50% / 25% chance to get item after doing the event successfully… this would best be determined by how Anet / Players feel about loot grinding. I do not feel with a high percent to drop it is considered grinding. This would also be a great way to add endgame content.
