Whether it is deliberate or not, WM uses portals and mass invisibility before they run in which causes culling 100% of the time. Even when we can clearly see them stealth. This leads me to believe they realize it causes the culling issue, which to me, is abusing the system. As I said in my previous post, they are a good guild, and they know how to best use the game to their advantage. Kudos to them.

Can’t argue the culling thing – however, even without culling, stealth and portals for taking a point (keep/tower/whatever) is just good tactics. We’d still use them regardless of the culling issue.

Yeah, that ^ nap time I think so I can be here for the expected early push by some such or another Euros. WM/SoS/Meow and such can handle CD’s night crew.

Just wanted to say thanks to the 4-5 Yaks guys who were constantly harassing SM north when the walls were down (late, around midnight PDT). Really nice having some small group skirmishes tonight. Wish I had caught guild tags, but you guys kept me and two WM guys hopping pretty well.

I think one guild cannot bring a server to T1. Unless the guild has 1500+ hardcore wvw players who can maintain a 24/7 coverage.

To be successful in any tier, a server has got to have 4 key essentials:

1. WvW size (right number of WvWers for the right tier)
2. WvW command & control structure (formal or informal)
3. WvW training & expertise
4. WvW community cohesion

What I find great about KN is that the WvW community is willing to learn new things. That in itself is a wonderful thing, there a few QQers, map trolls and detractors who throw out negative stuff in map chat, which affects WvW morale.

Kaineng is a young server, in terms of experience and WvW warfare. However, due to the influx of wvw guilds including CO, EI, RE, SOS, WM, (please forgive if I forget any) the militia are getting trained in terms of siege warfare etc. We still have much to learn as a server.

I am not sure where KN will end up. But win or lose, it’s great to fight alongside folks who won’t go all negative when we lose a battle. That in itself is a gift and a blessing.

During NA prime time Kaineng, YB and CD were all fairly even. We in Kaineng only have a slight edge. However in late night YB doesn’t have much people. CD got some but not enough.

Well hopefully we’ll still get some good fights during NA prime time. Tonight was alot of fun.

i’d really like it if the asian and oceanic players could get their own servers. i’ve got nothing against them, its just that when a server has a large oceanic presence it seriously imbalances a match against the many other servers that don’t.

WvW was never intended to be totally fair, but it would be nice if that applied just to positioning and individual players. not to who has all the asian and oceanic players.

Can we keep the recruiting and server advertising out of this thread. Good fights tonight none the less.

Great fights last night. Truely enjoyed the night. Mass balls of red and all rolling across the map were annoying, but interesting to use to DH, and CD’s advantage. It took alot of work to get YB to engage on their BL last night, but we in DH kept at it till you did. We had no intention of taking anything there, just the sting of a thousand needles to send our enemies into a fury.

I know Kaineg has some rivalries toward CD, and it shows in the score. I beg YB don’t give up the fight this week. I know last week IoJ couldn’t do much and it turned out to be YB vs Mag. Have it be known CD is not IoJ and has no intention of letting it become a 1v1 fight. We are looking forward to next week, where we can have a real fight, but for this week; we know we are gonna be KN’s focus and our community is taking it in stride.

We fight for the fights, not score.

To KN; Its been great fighting many old friends from ages ago, all the way back to the betas; TL. I truely hope you make your dream of t8-t1 a reality. It would be the Cinderella story for Kaineg. I just hope you can do it and keep some class toward the enemies you tromp on the way. Remember; The reputation you create on the way up, will stay with you at the top.

Well, let’s put it this way.

Would this be a smart thing to do even if culling didn’t exist in the game? If the answer is yes (which it obviously is) then I don’t think it should be referred to as “abusing” culling. That’s my personal opinion.

Nobody is faulting (or should be) for wanting to play together, but IF you are going to do that then you should have a realistic view of how it’s going to pan out and not act all disappointed when you can’t have fun because of the numbers you bring to the fight. Mass transfer to a server all you want, just don’t act surprised when you have… mass numbers lol.

To those asking for server transfers to their servers, I say NAY. My guild is a PvE guild mostly, and we only have a lot of us in WvW on occasions. I check into WvW maybe once every two days, so you won’t get me to leave this server.

We were talking on map if Yaks and CD merged.

1. Crystal Yak – seems like we’d all look doped.
2. Yak Dessert – Not very appetising.

The endless waves of “mobs” coming from the left, then right, rinse and repeat. We dubbed it Kaineng tower defense.

This wont be the fun fight keaning was looking for, Yaks will go back to PVE now. If we are lsoing over the weekend all our carebears go back into hibernation for the week.

A few of us will come out during the NA prime time and make our own map interesting through the week, but there will be no presence on the rest other then the ocasional 5-10 people who will run the karma loop. No legit push of the map though.

I hope this is the last week we have to deal with a transfer situation server since paid are going in. Most miserable time playing I have had in any MMO I have played in last 15 years, and thats saying something.

I Just dont get the mindset of “lets transfer off a server with high queues in tier 1/2 to a lower tier server, zerg rush everything (and pick up MORE transfers to bloat our new wvw server) in our way back to being a tier 1/2 server, and get more queues!!” Just seems kind of, not well thought out I guess.

If Kaineng didn’t figure it out at all….if you never let the losing sides take anything…..and you own everything 24/7….its not only boring for them….but its also boring for YOU as well (unless you get off on zerging 20 people with a force of at least 50+ every time they sneeze, but thats a whole separate personalty problem)

Very fun evening guys! Yaks, you guys are great! I haven’t run into many CDs yet but spent most of my time (after finally getting in) in YBBL and a short time at EB in SM. Seems our NA guys did a good job getting to where we needed to be, holding a fairly close lead, into Oceanic prime time where our night time tigers went to work I see.

Also want to thank everyone for keeping this thread civil so far, Its the best match up, and best match up thread we have seen for a while now. Lets keep it up! Yaks and CD, you are proving to be a classy bunch so far.

Dhampyr, we must have missed each other last night at SM. Maybe you could have saved my silly Ranger from getting her butt handed to her by thieves several times! LOL.

Fell “victim” to the culling a couple as well…move forward to engage a couple of Yaks only to be suddenly surrounded by 30. OH NOOOOS! Much fun, lets keep it up. If the current match up forecast is correct next week will be the Mother of all Battles, in the meantime bring on more good fights this week

Yeah, I know it has. However, its still something that negatively impacts a lot of people on the other servers, so while I totally get why its a stale topic….its still a valid one.

Right now on YBBL we finally got cliffside, soon as we took it a treb started in from Astral….we go to see whats going on and find an easy 40+ zerg waiting and its gone in less than 10 minutes. At least we got it for a few minutes though I guess.

Still I dont get why the transfer situation happened in first place. Once paid goes in, everyone is really screwed on these “bandwagon” servers that will rise up to have as big of a queue as they all originally transferred away from. It would have been more logical for everyone to spread out across all the servers instead of concentrating back on just a few servers and just repeat the problem over again, but again thats logical and most times people never do whats logical.

Yeah, score was nice and close for awhile. Yaks’ continuous push of SM in EB was alot of fun, with more than a few CD mixed in to make sure nobody forgot this is a 3-way fight. We ended up resigning ourselves to the fact that SM would just have to live without an outer wall. xD
