My current prediction

Kaineng, Devona, Fergison

Kaineng and Devona will be neck and neck, and yes I’m biased.

And yes, I’m predicting fergison’s crossing will take last place.

Delarme, that’s you isn’t it? Well, I’m telling you. Unless you figure out some kind of calculation to light a fire under everybody’s PUPPY, you might end up having yourself a Crow dinner come Friday.

The fighting spirit that we had wasn’t there tonight. Some kid said that the way our army was stomped into the ground was the best he had ever seen. And while the “commander” spoke in platitudes, saying “If you think, you’ll never win the fight!” or some worthless crap! He was crying “retreat” all night! LOL!

Now I know. There’s more than one way to skin a cat, and lord knows that cat’s deserve it, but those people weren’t there to win. They were there for good conversation!

If you’re a commander on Kaineng, and you’ve got more platitudes than you do siege weapons to lay down for your team, something is wrong! If your army is dying and you’re 2000 yards behind them running in the other direction, something is wrong!

In 30 days I have seen two commanders worth the 100g they spent. One of em transferred in and transferred right back out. Now all we got left is the one.

He doesn’t carry siege weapons around, he carries the IMPROVED weapons around. He doesn’t say “OK guys, time to defend!” He says “Spawn camp them and drive them out of the map!”

Last night we ran into the keep on the east end of the Kaineng map. The first time we wiped, he says,“Alright. The door is weakened. Let’s try it again!” The boy has no quit in him. He has no fear of failure.

We have too many “commanders” more worried about making a bad call! Too many more worried about quipping and being cute. Typing in capital letters. Telling everybody to “fall back” probably because it sounds cool. LOL.

It becomes impossible for me to mind my own business. Now there’s always more than one way to skin a cat, and Lord knows a cat deserves to be skinned. I’m not saying my favorite commander is the only way one should be. All I’m saying, is that he is the only one who goes out there to try to skin the cat! Everybody else wants to hug it, and squeeze it, and call it George. Chat with it! It’s sickening!

Who will be the one to step up around here?

Come to think of it he was showering you guys with praises for your organization. I think he came from a bigger server, dropped into Kain for like a day, an then came to DR, but I may be wrong.

I love how out of all the battles going on in WvW, the one between the lowest ranked worlds is actually one of the most interesting. Apart from the top battle between JQ, IoJ and SBI which is looking incredible, I think this is the closest fight we have.
Hopefully Kaineng will be able to gain a bit more ground later during the week but DR are recapturing our nighttime acquisitions a LOT faster than before.
That influx of new players has certainly helped you a lot.

Yeah, PRO was in Kain the entire time. We stole the orb and then just went raiding. It was pretty fun.

Man, what a weekend.
I think DR grew up a lot this past weekend. The Addition of PRO to the server certainly provided an impact in this. Much like Siren stated, I didn’t see PRO overly active in EB this past weekend. It doesn’t mean that they weren’t out wrecking kitten. I got to run with PRO a little this weekend yesterday and I enjoyed how the two commanders I was with did things.

The attack on Stone Mist from the DR side was a collaborative effort between multiple guilds and lots and lots of additional realm mates. What I saw coming out of DR this weekend was awesome! DR just work together very very well.

I will admit, I am tremendously let down that one of our largest guilds was more interested in running an advertised XP train in Ferg while pvpers were at Stone Mist.
Very let down. Very Very let down. You should be ashamed that your name gets mixed into so much credit when you aren’t supporting a fraction of the hype you generate.

That being said. I was present for 3 high ranking guild leaders to join in TS to further coordinate, while working with a commander out on the map running a zerg. It was nice to see so much teamwork.

DR did a fantastic job this weekend and I hope we keep with it. One thing I did notice a lot of that we will need to work on is, we have far too many commanders who want to jump off the map once they have zerged it clean. Often the map is not fortified at all. Often, most of the towers are left without a thought of building them up. Often people forget that Camps need to be watched at all times.

When a zerg jumps to another map, you leave the current map abandoned. and unprepared to deal with even a small group of XP training fools.

Take the map, delegate people to remember to build. it’s a team effort out there. if you dare to yell “all on me” you should dare to follow through with your leadership. Little things like this add up and help change things. This is stuff that matters, even if you can’t brag about it in map chat.

Running by a tower? pop in, look at its status, and share that information. buy an upgrade, or ask for donations. people will help.

We had a nice long fight back and forth outside Faiths Leap (I think) that raged for a while. You folks have some really solid players and we look forward to more!

Some of this kicked up in EB as well at one point. I don’t really remember between who and who. but a few of us broke it up and everyone got back on track. We have some bad commanders, we also have bad players who rant in all caps. Just like we have good commanders and people who lead well even without the book. It’s important for us to learn who is who and how to benefit from the ones who offer less.

Presence and how you deal with the battle makes or breaks your commander status. 100g for the icon DOES NOT make you an instant commander. The problem with a lot of these ‘commanders’ is just that…“I paid my dues, now I’m a commander”. Try again.

There are many good commanders out on the maps nightly from DR that don’t have the icon, but again the problem remains that people would rather zerg for karma and xp than defend what they have or even build anything up to try to defend. You probably get as much XP/Karma from those huge epic battles we’ve had lately in EB defending Stonemist than you do on those XP trains…and best of all, you get more instant gratification for it. You also get a nice load of karma/xp/coin for taking over towers/keeps/SM etc. I’ve heard many guys talking about how they’ve gained over 12 levels the last couple of days from just the EB siege’s alone.

PRO did add numbers, but it also added headaches. That saying of “too many cooks in the kitchen” leads to bearing here. While they were in Kain’s lands most of the night, the few that were not were butting heads with the many of players that have been on DR since day one. You don’t come into someone’s home and pee in their cheerios just because you are a large guild. If anything, you guys at PRO, should have found out who the major WvW players are (guilds) and should have had a conversation with them to break the ice….not pull some (not everyone was doing it) of that Elitist craptasticness that some of your people were (PRO Members in EB). We don’t care what server you have come from (well we might depending)…but you’re on our server and disrespecting people here does not earn you any respect.

They are. I personally received a message from PRO “management” and he told me that’s what they were working on doing and they were trying to reach out. It will not happen over night. I never saw any of the PRO pissing contests. But I am willing to bet it’s not 100% one sided. I know DR members can get lippy when ego starts to ride high.

I have seen a few large guilds move to the server to “fix” it’s pvp situation. Most leave. PRO got here on a good weekend and I firmly believe that they helped on whatever map they were on because we had the numbers to get Stone Mist and keep it mostly overnight. It’s a baby step. Let’s get along with these guys and keep them around. I get the feeling they are here to RvR with us and not make it a PRO blowhard celebration hype train. If that’s the case, let’s be grateful we got a large guild who doesn’t think they are the answer to all our prayers and let’s have DR stomp a mudhole into Ferg and K collectively.

We should be so humbled that you HAD to have 5 golems to take anything we have….or in other words, you had to use that to get in against our small numbers.

Thanks for the morale boost…now DR can go on knowing that our enemies must use extreme force to get into our keeps. Course, that could backfire on a well defended keep/tower/castle….just ask those Ferg guys what happened to them two nights ago at SM with their 5 golems…“wink”

Thats uncalled for. I myself (Phizyn) have not called down on anyone, I have been asking who the big WvW guilds are and I have had their officers and or leaders in TS with me welcoming us & I have been talking to them about what their goals are and stuff like that.

There may be times when someone in my guild bearing the PRO tag will rage at someone but I cannot control my members actions. If they want to bicker, then they will bicker.

I can relate to calling someone out when they’re making a mistake and giving constructive criticism when necessary (whether they’ll take it is another matter). And, yes PRO has given us some relaxed fighting ability while doing their thing. However, when you have members of any guild going “We’re from X server and X tactic worked there so I know what I’m talking about, but don’t listen to me” (which came from a member of PRO last night), then what does that say about the guild that X represents. While I can agree that all the maps are the same, and they are by obvious standards, the populations are not.

Again, too many cooks in the kitchen. Everyone wants their veal cooked this way, but are not taking a collective and using it.

Ferg has been very quiet. this week it seems. and I watched the Ferg Orb bug out about 4 times on Saturday while someone was making for it.

Ah okay, that explains the no defenders in fergs.

Well, looking forward to vs some fergs shortly, and yeah that orb is defiantly bugged. we own all 3 keeps and checked the north alter and nothing xD

On a side note, Devonas Rest just took the lead. Congrats to everyone in WvW! keep up the work till friday!

And here I thought we’d move Kain up a tier this week….now DR will just be swapping spots on the bottom.

I personally don’t care if we swap at the bottom as long as the fights are getting closer and better, and they are. we have moved past the days of our server being completely incapable of holding the 3 north supply camps to having our borderlands almost on complete lock down. That’s progress.

A little more proactive work and we will be moving up. many of our efforts are based in reactionary format. We need a few more people getting in front of the ball. Not chasing it.

It doesn’t take a commander to run through a zone capping things that have just been capped. anyone can do that. loss prevention, I would like to see someone flex this. People will get it. Those that already do get it, be patient and iterate often. remond people

call out numbers ( ZERG ON GARRISON ) offers zero information. Internet people use tropes regardless of their meaning and how well they do or not apply to an event, person, description.
tell people whats going on, report groups that you see, share numbers. Communication is more important than anything else.
15 men can take out 30, 40 or even 60 if they are prepared and communicating.

How do you kids get away with this kind of talk? If I had said either of those things, I would have had a personal message from the moderator informing me that rudeness is not tolerated, and that they were thankful for my understanding! I bet, that the moderator has the same problem as I do.

Never heard of ya son! The problem probably is, I usually read signatures first, and since yours says “Devona’s” I probably just disregard everything you say. Weeks of mowing you guys down like an overgrown lawn has made me hate doing it, just like I hate mowing overgrown lawns! You can understand, can’t you?

Imagine you’re a bloodthirsty barbarian looking for a righteous battle, and the minute you charge into the red zerg from Devona’s they scatter like frightened sheep! That would trigger the chase instinct in a lesser animal, but for me it’s simply disgusting! I’m tired of it! Anymore when I see a group from Devona’s, I have to make sure and wait that there are 4x as many of you than there are of us so that you can feel confident about standing your ground! Otherwise, 10 of us end up pushing 20-30 of you into a tower where you hide on a rooftop with an arrowcart for 2 hours! It’s incredibly boring, son!

As for the guild “leader” from NOOB, judging by your little “o.o,” me killing and spiking your people over, and over, and OVER again must have occurred past your bedtime. As many of you kids I saw out there, I’m sure one or two of em slip past the reaches of your all-seeing eyes.

Just look here, son. Make me a promise. When I see you out there, don’t run from me. Can you do that for me? Can you do that for Devona’s? It’s about time I had some competition around here! Good man!

I agree, and out of a 400+ guild I’m sure there are those touting their superiority, and yes a member’s actions will always reflect on a guild. However, in my experience there have been far more constructive, supportive messages from PRO in /t and /m. I think it’s unfair to write off the whole guild as a nuisance until the whole guild proves otherwise. We’ve needed the help for a while, and while non [PRO] has been getting much more organized as of late, they’ve been working hard to give us some breathing room. A welcome addition in my book.

If we have conflicting opinions and personalities, which we do, it’s important to resolve them quickly and civilly, not to drag them out and kitten people off.

Just a heads up to those who may be new to this match-up in any of the three servers:

Forum members who exhibit arrogance or are just generally annoying are not representatives of the guilds or players in the Kaineng server. Most of us would rather just have a good time fighting the war.

I’m terrified of Kaineng moving up, not because of anything they’ve done, but because of my terrible memories of Borlis… shudder

Also, as long as I see sportsmanlike conduct, I’m happy. It’s the random Kaineng dudes that pick fights in the jumping puzzles that frustrate me. I expect that kind of silliness from Borlis, not from Kaineng.

Just pretend mighteous is RPing a disgruntaled general from a different war.

Then it all makes sense. He’s just flavor.

Also why should you be granted easy access to free siege? Its a pvp jumpin puzzle, deal with it. Ive been camped in that puzzle a few times last week, but i got around or killed the camp each time. Its not unsportsmanlike to pvp in a pvp zone.

I don’t have a problem with the good folks…I have a problem with the bad ones and I did state that in a not so “clear” manner (which was my fault). I also don’t have a problem with teamwork as I have grouped with PRO’s people which seemed fine.

A weed continues to grow and causes damage to the things around it until you yank it out and toss it aside. I was calling it like it was shown as of the first and second nights in the battlegrounds. I did say that not everyone was behaving in that manner but that there were a few that were.

My group of 10-15 [AP][RUNN][Mort] Has plenty of good fights with both sides. we don’t really use a commander, but we usually get most of our jobs done. My experience with most commanders is they had 100g to spend but not much for leadership. (there are many exceptions)
My guild transferred about a month or so ago from tarnished Coast for the Queue times so we could do some guild running. Has been quite fun.
We welcome pro for the teir. Hope to have some fun with you guys too. see you peoples on the battlefield =D

Had 4 hours of fun in FC BL tonight with the evermoor alliance and randoms. I really wanted to take Cragtop and tried repeatedly but there were some dedicated people camping the treb/ballistas in there Had fun fights around Sunnyhill as well.

I love the weekday pvp. It’s more even and competitive rather than Kaineng getting roflstomped on the weekend. Time for a comeback again? Should be fun to watch.

Few days ago, I found out that theres a bug with the guardian #3 mace skill. You hit that, and nobody from your team can get hit for 5 seconds or something like that. Not working as intended.

Yesterday, a large of group of reds mostly made up of players from the guild NOOB, took over the eastern keep in Kaineng Borderlands. As our commander lay there in the middle of the Lord’s room saying “fall back!” I charged in there and found something peculiar. The entire group was standing on top of each other. Almost like the Myrmidons from the movie The Iliad did. I thought it was so cute, that I decided to jump into the center of it and try to cause as much damage as I could.

Well of course, I died, and I look up and everybody on the map is “falling back” thanks to the brave commander’s battle cry. I thought to myself, that’s a peculiar way to fight. Stand in a ball where everybody can be AOE’d to death.

Then today, guys from a guild on the red team (can’t recall the name. Something like TMA or some crap) were walking around in a ball, similiar to the one I first saw when I encountered NOOB. Only this time, when I dove in to the center of them to mow them down, I was greeted with big letters that said “BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK” or “IMMUNE IMMUNE IMMUNE IMMUNE”

Being the genius that I am, I put two and two together. Were a zerg to have come through that door to kill NOOB, they would all have been under the protection of the Guardian bug. Depending on how many guardians they had that equipped maces, they could have been immune to all damage for 5 seconds at a time.

Smart, but kind of pathetic if you ask me. That they were able to get all their little zerglings to huddle up like that was the kind of organization that I might have been impressed with. Why they got together to huddle up? Well I’ll let you all be the judge of that.

We took Etheron and Greenbriar secretly

I was mad about Etheron. We could have defended it with 4-5 people if our spotter wasnt kittening around until the gate was 75% down. We had all the siege we needed to drop that force, but not enough people or reaction time. Meh.

Yes we saw 3 superior ballistas when we broke the first gate Gladly took em down for you

It’s cool Allot of us on Ferg perfer to be outnumbered. Much less boring that way, lol.

Edit: And a very large force of Devonas was definitely in EB last night, they nearly took our spawn keep. I ran up top and started killing Devs, there were 2 trebs up there and a Commander, I remember the commander cuz he backed up from me and I knocked him off the ledge. Don’t recall the guild though, just remember seeing the Comm Icon.

Sigh…tonight wasn’t great for us. Too many zerg commanders running exp trains instead of putting men in strategic locations. Too much deconstructive cross chatter. Not enough focus on defense in important points.

Had we had 7 men at the keep, we’d had stood a chance. But this whole orb>keep thing was deconstructive and I hope that with better coordination, a commander would be able to divert some forces to avoid losing ground.

Oh and FC was blitzing our garrison, that didn’t help much.
